Gayle is a big no-no for CSK....we function and excel as a 'team', don't need one-man-army or players who cannot perform under pressure. Hussey should be bought back at any cost.

Vijay namma payyan, will be part of the core. Wouldn't wonder if retained.

Bravo will be in high demand next auction and may move out.

What CSK needs is a very good overseas seamer. Get Dale Steyn I say

Is retaining 4 players rule still there ? if so retain Dhoni , Raina , Huss and Ashwin ...

Go for Badri (shud be easily available) and jaddu in auction ... mudinja get back Balaji and pick Karthick if MI don't retain him ...

If we cannot retain any player than Dhoni-ya vangaave iruka kasellam selavu pannanum .. apuuram irruka kaasuku sadagopan ramesh / vikranth/ Vishal ah thaan koopdanum ...

Dhoni, Raina, Ashwin and Jadeja will be retained, I think.

As Scorps rightly points out Bravo will be high in demand in the auction and so does most of the overseas players from Chennai......Morris and Faf

Considering Hussey and Albie age, we can win them back @ the auction.

Badri may not go to auction and hence we can have him.

Plus, what will be fascinating would be the new picks

Personally, I would love to see the likes of Ross Taylor and some promising Indian bowlers along with the current crop

A big noooooooooo to Chris Gayle who fits better in the Kingfisher-Siddharth-Koyli-Party group.

David Miller will be retained for sure by Punjab and so will Dale Steyn.

Retention rule-llam illai.....strongly hoping Seenu maams will tweak a line to enable us retain the core

Jadeja was picked for almost 1.6M (if I am not wrong) and hence it would be close to impossible to rope him back. The best would be not to leave him in the auction pool.

On the contrary even if Hussey is in the pool, considering his age (I don't think Huss will be available for 3 more years, 1 good year would be great) even if there is competition in the auction, we can get him back for a reasonable amount.

Cedy- not this time....all players move into the pool. and go under the hammer.

Again, the massive popularity of IPL lies in the fact that fans become too loyal to a particular set of players...Dhoni-Raina for us, Kohls-Gayle for Blore, Sachin for MI etc....So, I'm sure the owners as well as BCCI will bring the retention clause again....if not 4, atleast 2 or 3.

That's a shocker of a scenario

Srinivasan Sir will be the only hope then...coz other franchises might just be desperate to break CSK

Dhoni in the auction means there would be pandemonium and everyone would be exceeding their overall currency cap..

Chennai went into the first auction with a 'Dhoni at all cost' strategy and I think this time all 9 franchises might do that
