Midnight Screening : MONSOON SHOOTOUT (yedho Amit Kumar padamam)

Mappi I think the Hindi film Ugly is being screened at cannes.
Never argue with a fool or he will drag you down to his level and beat you at it through sheer experience!

Yes, Anurag Kashap's Ugly is screened in Cannes [Its presented as a Thriller narrating the kidnap of a young girl].
But not as a selection by Cannes but by "Quinzaine des Réalisateurs" [Its complicated to translate it - Actual meaning : 15 directors - Real Sense : handful of (bunch of) Directors).
Quinzaine des Réalisateurs is an association that enrolls/identifies young directors from the world. And their category at Cannes is a special one [ie. they will not be contesting with the official selection]. The award the directors would be contesting is "La Caméra d'Or" (Golden Camera). This association organises workshops where several young talents are recognised. To salute them, each year (starting from 1978) they screen movies, at Cannes, made by "them" which are note worthy.
Main Awards @ Cannes :
Palme d'or [Highest Award for a film]
Grand prix du jury [2nd Place for a film - Jury award]
Prix d'interprétation masculine [Male]
Prix d'interprétation féminine [Female]
Prix de la mise en scène [Director]
Prix du scénario [Screenplay]
La Caméra d'Or (Awarded to a film in the selection list of Quinzaine des Réalisateurs)
Prix de la Cinéfondation (Awarded to a film in the selection list of Cinéfondation. A sentence on Cinéfondation : an assosiation which identifies and tries to uplift NEW directors - I think it got to be his/her 1st film and he/she can be from anywhere in the planet - Excellent award / assosiation)
Participation awards are garantied for all the selected/screened movies. Other Awards are given to selected Documentaries (long/short), Short Films etc., respectively.

Allu Arjun’s Iddarammayilatho Movie In Controversy
Allu Arjun’s Iddarammayilatho Movie In Controversy
Allu Arjun’s recent release Movie Iddarammayilatho and the movie went into controversy and the shocking news is this controversy was raised by mega family fans. Going into the details there is a dialogue in Iddarammayilatho about Pawan Kalyan that has made Pawan kalyan fans angry and they demanded sorry from the director Puri Jaganath. The dialogue goes like this: “Prati Vedava Pawan Kalyan faney…” (Every wastefellow is a Pawan Kalyan fan).
The dialogue is told by Brahmanandam in the film when Allu Arjun says his name Sanju in typical Pawan Kalyan style. But the words “Prati Vedava” made Pawan kalyan fans angry. And some of them came on the roads with a banner demanding the scene be deleted from the film.
So Puri Jagannadh responded and posted his view on twitter, saying that he is offering his apologies if the fans hurt by this dialogue. He further added, “Chiru laughed, Allu Aravind enjoyed and Bunny liked the scene. It is a compliment. It shows Bunny is a big fan of PK.”
With this sorry from the director Puri jaganath the controversy become cool.

It would be more funny to see who is going to bring the Ningas to TFI.
Intha padathuku evalo build-up + ippo intha mari news vara. These kind of stupidity must STOP so that you can concentrate more on giving a good cinema rather than treating selected ones as demi-gods.
Allu dances for Gang Leader song + Pawan Kalyan's comment was a timing one = none of these could save the film (then why the hell you include such scenes !?!)
Iddarammayilatho : Cultural Murder.
