White butter
Hi All,
Does anyone know where to get or how to make white butter here in the US?
Is the unsalted whipped butter the same?

What do you mean by white butter?
They have salted butter and unsalted butter(aka sweet cream butter) in all american grocery stores.
Whipped butter is nothing but fluffy butter, I think it has little extra milk or something added to it for that texture.
We buy organic unsalted butter for our cooking and sandwich needs.
If you want to make your own butter, you may use the whipping cream. It has to be ice cold. Whip it using an electric mixer, and you will have homemade butter in no time. A couple of times I was making frosting for the cupcakes using whipped cream, and because of overbeating it turned into butter!
Hope this helps.

hi redpepper,
i enjoyed going thru the site.the prepared butter looked so appealing.brought back memories when we used sit around our granny and she will go gently swish- swish with the wooden spoon and claypot churning butter ! maybe it will make us spare a thot while we reach out for the foil packed butter sitting neatly stacked in the store.
regards,
rain
