Its worth listening to 'Nadi Thudikkudhadhi'.
Initially, I was put off by the album on 2 accounts:
1. IR acting in the movie (?). It is like me, aspirating to be a chef or something. Felt it wouldn't work out. Saw the sample song 'Kadhale'. - I was right.
2. First listen - didn't the hit the chords, especially when I started with Oo lala a. You and I forever song. I just shut the media center immediately.
Subsequent listens:
En Devadhai, En poo nenjai, Velinattu and Kathale ranks from best to average order respectively. It is on the loop than Nila choru.
Biggest gripe of the album is the song
You & I Young For Ever by Anitha, Sathiyan, Senthil, Sam, Belliraj.
A really bad attempt in trying American accent and that too, when they sang tamil words in american accent, it became unbearable. I don't know what IR nor the singers were thinking . It is really horrible. This might have fared ok in the 80's but not now. IMHO, these trendy tunes doesn't fit IR well. It would have been best if he tapped on what he is good at.
Percussions were quite good. But wasted.
Although I listened to mp3s, recording could have been better.
Except for the fake american accent song, album stands out really good.

No songs.
Songs are omnipresent in our lives.
Salilda or MSV_TKR or Khayyam or S.D.Burman invited me to watch their Madhumathi or Nenjam marapadhillai or Bazaar or Tere ghar ke samne with their songs!
anyway... good luck to him.
His earlier movie Yuddham Sei with Cheran was good.

This link says director (Myshkin) suggested IR to use it as he (Myshkin) felt that it would be apt.

Thumburu is right - velinatu gramsthile song is actually very good. The interludes are out of the world and very interesting charanams. The recording is good.

It's sad that Nilachoru album hasn't drawn the much needed attention. I'm not sure why it's listed in the leading music sites, such as raagangal.
In any event, the songs are very pleasant to listen to. Unga appan peru song is very catchy. I've fallen completely in love with this...
