+1. It was telecasted on Sunday afternoons right? Never missed a single show. Used to even cry when Giant Robot got thrashed by the monsters. Downloaded one of the episodes few months back to revisit the classic. 5-mins mela paakka mudiyala
Giant Robot dhaan Pacific Rim'a? Thanks for the info!

Take out KH scenes and SL = Rettai Vaal Kuruvi. If you make it a bit more serious, SL = RVK = Marupadiyum.

How true!!
Btw .. Last movie - Thillu Mullu 2013. It started like old one and what a horrible movie making. They made like a spoof initially but failed miserably, check the interview scene
how classic it was in Rajini’s version. Later, they altered the original story a bit . Siva was good here and there. Prakash Raj can't match Thengai but he was ok.
Question to director and producer, thillu mullu humour sequences works even in 2013, why did you choose this?

The Happening - the bizarre movie
Weird movie my Shyamalan. It might have been scary if I saw it on theatre. Well acted by Mark wahlberg and Zoey Deschanel though. I must start not relying on the ratings of the movie. Got fooled by the ratings for this one.

[QUOTE=interz;1057214]The Happening - the bizarre movieQUOTE]
"Kathala" Manoj "Rathirila" Shyamalan movies rest between the genres. They are haunting more than thrilling or scary, sometimes there would be jumping moments, but his motive is to haunt you. Thats where many fail to recognise and appreciate his work. Take Happening : while you are watching it or after watching it, just to have a seed of thought that what happens if the trees deceide to send carbon dioxide instead of oxygen permanantly is haunting ? We dont give a thought about it until we not only realise but recognise that its from the trees that we breathe. Once this seed is planted, it starts to haunt you forever.
Similarly, We have read about monsters in fairy tales and have been scared. Just imagine if its a parrallel world and through a portal that monster come to your bedroom for real. Just imagine how you would feel if you come to know after 1h30 mins that you were in an ascensor talking and reacting to someone who was realy dead ! Thats haunting, some really weird stuff and bringing it on screen is purley through naration skills.
Talking about rating, I second you. Take for exemple Redemption, the latest by Jason Statham (Hummingbird in UK and Crazy Joe in France). Its Drama (ofcoarse you have 10 secs of "bone-breaking" from time to time). The critics simply thrashed the movie by saying that Statham is getting better as an actor. They completely missed the core. There is a scene in the alley, a conversation between a nun and Statham, that summerises the movie. You live in Europe and I suppose you are aware of the state its in. Watch this movie, and let me know what you think.
