அகில இந்திய ரசிகர் மன்ற மாநாட்டினை இந்தியாவிலேயே முதன்முறையாக ஒரு நடிகர் நடத்தியது என்றால் அந்தப் பெருமை கமல்ஹாசனையே சாரும்.
இவர் 1985ல் கோவையில் இந்த மாநாட்டினை நடத்தினார்.
மாநாட்டை MGR தலைமையில் நடத்திய போது, திரண்ட இளைஞர்கள் கூட்டத்தைப் பார்த்து, எம்ஜியாரே கமலை பார்த்து "அரசியலுக்கு வருகிறாயா?" என்று கேட்டார். ஆனால் எம்ஜியாரிடமே தன் மறுப்பை தெரிவித்து, இன்றும் அரசியலில் ஈடுபடாத அரசனாக, கலையுலகை மட்டும் ஆட்சிபுரிகிறார் கமல்.

Not sure what was in Kamal's mind in 1985.... on the whole it can be rasigargalai "nalvazhiyil" nadatthi selvadharkaaga & rasigargalai otrumai padutthuvadharkaaga irukkalaam..

For fulfilling many of his constructive, useful cinematic ambitons, in the days where there was not much information flow. this Maanaadu wud have signalled as an event which shows him as the next big hero or topmost hero in his generation, and also to show that he has the blessing of MGR, and surely for diverting the crowd towards his welfare plans like blood donation etc.
