Apocalypse Now is a dictionary for film making. The movie is quite close to me and there are several film makers who give homage to that particular helicopter scene (with "Ride of the Valkyries" on the bgm), irrespective to its genre. Recently in Nolan / Zack's Superman, the space ships coming out of Krypton is a clear evidence how much this 1979 movie has an impact to the current generation film makers.

That said - Ghost protocol or Rock, I would have been at your side, its just that person's fantasy. But in my case, not only the images and colors are similar to Apocalypse Now, but I would go forward saying its a "cut-copy-paste". Look at the 2 images below :

Sorry got to get technical here. The helicopters that you see are UH-1 Iroquios. They were used by Americans during the Vietnam War. (In 1979, for Apocalypse Now, it was provided by Philipines for shooting purpose as the film was made there.) UH-1 is out of use currently and is replaced by Bell's another version UH-60 Blackhawk. Thats what you see in Vishwaroopam. In the poster, the centre helicopter was "wonderfully" photo-shopped to a Blackhawk but what about the rest. Taking your point that the poster is original, then the model of the Helicopters are outdated or they all are not the ones seen in the Viswasroopam "attack".

Even if the sun is green, and the copters are blue, I still stand my point that the upper part of the poster is a lift from Apocalyse Now !
My point is just to share what I observed with you. This in 'any-which-way' does not put down my curiosity to watch the film, but has increased as (if true) Kamal has done a wonderful job in intergrating it in his poster. I am favorable, and let this be a trace to anyone who is going to go on into a "mockery" mode.

I end here and do not want to divert the course of the discussion.

    END.

HaHa!! THanks CR! but i feel 200+C is the max, films of this genre can make, considering the family and kid audience are not very much part of this film's audience.

For it to happen, the movie has to be more dilute and more commercial ingredients added, which we cannot expect, that too seeing the 1st part. After transformation scene and till the interval, there was no heroine at all.

Great post....But i still have my doubts as to whether this was a cut-copy-paste act. More than similar no doubt, but a direct lift i guess not....

Orkut comm this news was posted.

IIFA news came from Taran Adarsh, who interviewed KH and first one to leak the VR-2 first look before Maiam or the respective VR-2 FB pages leaked HD versions.
