Is it me or these 2 songs sound too similar?
(Just the few seconds starting bit)
Watched Megha audio recording. Check around 5:00 in the clip on Mughilodo song by yuvan.
The above song sounds similar but a slower version of Paadum parvaigal - nizhalo nijamo song.

The pattern is similar, though the melody is different. Well spotted.

Dochu & Sundar,
Thanks for the videos.
Mugilodu song has already become my favourite. The interludes of this song is going to heavenly! You can see that right from the beginning, be it the chorus, the piano backed portion. The flute section reharsal, followed by guitar melody and the flute. WOW! Agree with crimson king on the comparison part.
thanks,
Krishnan

Absolutely, there is no doubt the arrangements in Megha is going to be a killer, even the little bits that I heard was exceptional.
On a related note, did you guys notice IR dancing joyfully (cracked a few steps) during a rehearsal. This shows how much dedication and discipline he has even at this age.
From 5:51 in that first clip.

Another news link about South Indian Cinema festival:
"...Musicians Illayaraja or A.R. Rahman are likely to compose a special song for the event.
"We have requested these musicians to compose a special song to commemorate 100 years of Indian cinema. They haven't confirmed yet for the song, but we hope to hear from them soon. This song is expected to be performed on the final day of the event," said Kalyan."

About IR and his electronic/funky soundtrack (through finders and keepers) of 80's. Samples stream available in the site. A few songs, I have not heard before.
http://www.afisha.ru/article/outer_limits_reissues/
Translation by Google translate:
"who is this man named Ilayaradzha, a major Tamil composer and producer, just about all national film soundtracks of the last forty years. This is the fifth in a short time marked archival compilation to celebrate the seventieth birthday of the musician this year - and, apparently, not the last.
As the sound of a good Bollywood (or rather kollivudskaya) music - at the same time fun, bizarre and ingenious. If the previous volumes Ilayaradzhi took place or the more traditional Indian kinozvuki who were involved in the funk, leaping strings, guitar snooty and overall atmosphere of the wedding in Tamil Malinovke or amazing local techno-pop of the second half of the eighties about a Coke, whiskey-soda and stylish Kozhan with dark glasses, then ĞIlectroğ is somewhere in the middle: here you and moving flamboyant synth-funk with electrified ragas, and much more familiar to the Soviet cinema-goer music. All the while with a unique flavor and affectionate serdtseedskimi motifs that appear here through the song.
why listen to songs, produced by Ilayaradzhey, judging by some of Moscow's discos, heating up the dance floor to the limit and all terribly fun, for home listening the music, too, is extremely good, and the mother may be pleasantly surprised."
thanks,
Krishnan

IndiaToday reported it as "OR". Tamil.oneindia reports it as "AND". Not sure which is correct. Anyway, this is the way rumour mills work
. I am doubtful if IR and ARR will compose the song together, but if at all it happens, my curiosity level will know no bounds
