I dint find anything new in this film. A very old theme with scenes and situations which we have been used to for at least 3 decades now. I find it really frustrating to see directors waste talents and especially the Mass gained by actors such as Vijay and Ajith to make their films blockbusters.
I, personally, don't care about copying/plagiarizing when I enter films like Thalaivaa but mindless film making should not be tolerated.
That subtle Gangs of Wasseypur homage was an extreme facepalm moment.
From what I've seen so far, fans of this actor unlike fans of other actors (surya/ajith/...) very rarely provide constructive critical reviews. They pretty much endorse and lap up anything the actor provides giving him very little incentive to improvise in either extending range of emotions or picking original story lines or even evolving his own style during remakes.
