For those asking whether #Singam2 is blockbuster it's not. From 2012-2013 there was only 2 blockbuster #Thuppaki & #Viswaroopam in USA

Is it ok to compare the collections of present day movies to the movies which released in past ?
Shouldn't they compare the collection after adjusting to inflation.

ya of course..it s a gr8 difference even for a yr gap... taking for US collection for last yr 1$ = around 50 rs... bt nw 1$=65 rs... so let a tamil/any movie collects 1 million $ in US.. if it was released in 2012, the collection s 5 Cr INR...the same for tis yr, 6.5 Cr INR.. same applied for other countries... inflation s very high in India even for every months...
...
so the collection wil/should be higher for each releasing top heroes movies... A small ex. Chennai express collected 30 Cr INR in US nd 20 Cr INR in UK til nw... So neengale paarthukkonga...
check here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...grossing_films... u cn come to knw the inflation effects... here if u consider inflation, avatar movie collection would be lesser than 'Gone with the Wind' movie which was released in 1939... Titanic nd Avatar movie collection s more or less same (if adjusted wit inflation)... wit inflation, the class movie '3 idiots' s way ahead better collection than masala movie 'Chennai xpress'
