Need to use up left over rice? Try these quick fix cheesy rice cakes!
Mix rice with cheese and spices/herbs of your choice. Spread it out evenly on a non stick skillet. Brown one side, then flip over and brown the other side. Enjoy!

Simple Rasam For Kugan
Tomatoes - 3
Dal Water - 1 cup (optional) (2 tsp boiled dal mixed with 1 cup water)
Garlic - 2, Pepper - 1 tsp, Jeera - 1 tsp, Curry leaves - 5 (crush all of these coarsely without water)
Turmeric - little, salt as per taste.
Seasoning - Ghee (Compulsory) , Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Method
Boil water nicely and add the three tomatoes close with lid and turn off the stove.
After 10 mins remove the tomatoes and grind in mixer. Do not through the water. In the same water mix the crushed tomatoes add some more water or dal water as per required consistency.
Add salt turmeric check taste . In low medium heat, boil this again. meanwhile season mustard seeds in ghee turn off stove and add the coarse paste of crushed garlic,pepper,jeera, curry leaves . Mix well add it to the rasam once you just see one bubble remove the rasam and serve it hot with rice or as soup. If made right there will be nurai towards the end. rasam should not boil like sambar or other gravies. Just one boil.
