Ramesh Laus From Twitter : 1st half of Jilla will focus on Comedy & Romance. While da 2nd half will shift 2 high voltage action with a stunning climax!

Thalaiva also had the same. Hope he uses screenplay well unlike A.L. Vijay

Not just thalaiva, we seen this in pleanty of Vijays movies: Bhagavathi, Thirumalai, Gilli, Thirupachi, Sivakasi, Madhura, Pokkiri, Kuruvi, Villu, Vettaikaaran, Sura, Velayutham, Thuppakki.
Vijay is getting back to his comfort zone, I dont know how audience will like it.

it is not about the genre....At the end of the day if the film is entertaining it will click ...The presence of Mohanlal raises hopes that the movie will have a USP

Seeing most of those films, just proves it's a tried and tested formula. With the exception of Thalaivaa perhaps, most of the other films had a seamless transition. There was still action in the first half, just that the 2nd half had more.
Couple of RUMORS I heard on Jilla... Jilla is the story of how the son of a don becomes a police officer. Think we can guess who is the don and who's the police officer. Another rumor is that Jilla is inspired by The Departed/Infernal Affairs.

Ya too. Goes well with me, as well. As I have already said, I am always favorable to remakes & adaptations, definitely with a price on head. Here, if Nesan along with Vijay and Mohan Lal (of coarse with his whole team) brings out the intensity (as in the originals), the film could make eyes pop out. Sorry to bring it in, but if its done Pokiri way, then I am obliged to say "another one bites the dust", at least for me. (Ghilli to an extent was OK with me - just the family circling around Vijay, the Vijay I wish to see, was at plenty)
When are the first-look posters/stills releasing ?
