'Kochadaiiyaan' vs 'Vishwaroopam 2'
In a hundred years of cinema, here comes the classic example of clash of the titans. Hold your breath for the release of the two most expected films of the year - Superstar's 'Kochadaiiyaan' and Ulaga Nayagan's 'Vishwaroopm 2' - which is rumoured to hit the big screens on the same day! While 'Vishwaroopam 2' has been wrapped up and parcelled off to post production work, progress on the film seems to happen before expected deadline. There was a news doing the rounds that the audio and trailer launch of 'Vishwaroopam 2' will happen by next month. On the other hand, 'Kochadaiiyaan' seems to be taking slightly more time than anticipated, in getting the perfect output on film. Audio launch of the movie was expected to happen this month already, but it has been pushed to the next month now, inevitably. Further, this has spread the belief that the film will hit the screens only by the third week of December, later than the initial plan on December 12th, Rajinikanth's birthday.
But this delay has driven the distributors to rejoice, as they look forward to the release of both the films on the same day. Normally, the distributors would not want movies of big heroes to release on the same day, as it may lead to unnecessary clash and stiff decisions. But the story is not the same when it is between Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. A competition between the two is a welcome sight to watch, as both films will fare equally brilliant from release. Encashing the mass value these two heroes of Kollywood hold, the entire film fraternity is awaiting in a nail biting run-up to the release of the two films, much awaited to be on the same day.

The déjà vu feeling was there at several places:
When affected people come to complain to don (!)
Niruthanum ellathayum niruthanum and many such dialogues
Inga paar, epdi adichrukaan paar = thottu paar paar by showing his hand
hero kills one of the villain and his widow and child is taken care of later. (the girl doesnt take revenge may be because the hero becomes her adoptive father!)
Nothing to take away from mani sir. He is probably first tamil director who made north Indian cine-goers to tilt towards southern movies. Kadhai kalam similar so the similarities.
bottom line:I loved both movies.

Aada Neengea Varea sir, I was talking about Kochadaiiyaaaan. Its disaster from get go, personally I don't have much hopes.
as far VR2 is concerned , VR1 escaped lot of harsh critics partly due to the TN Ban drama. But it was decent movie (with great direction). I hope VR2 is better than Version 1 .

Dig//Are you referring to me, UV. I personally dont mind remakes or inspirations as long as they show some sort of depth in treatment. Superficiality is a trait I kind of detest in movies and I hope we get a good one in Aarambam.//
Coming to VR II, I am expecting it to be better than the first part. All said and done, VR I was far from perfect IMHO. The snippets from IIFA were very enticing. So hopefully I am proved right.

You got me wrong. I was saying there would be lot of such scenes in many movies which might look similar or inspired but you can't term it as remake, copy etc unless officially announced. One of the scene sequence from the movie has got more similarities to the commando operation at taj hotel in Mumbai 26/11. Now would we term it as copy...no...I would say it as inspired.

yes arvind i meant u (refer to previous posts about thala etc!)
with comparatively low budget (two-thirds of endhiran excluding inflation) kh managed to give one neat universal flick. it should be termed as perfect imho. watching on hindsight, any superb movie can be perfected to some extent which doesnt mean it was not perfect originally. i would place vr among top ten movies of kh.
