Kuganka, thanks for the Mysore bonda recipe.
I have eaten only in hotels in India, that too made of urad dal.
This recipe looks very simple to make .

I did not know much about Thanksgiving day.
Thanks for all the information about that.
Nice to see Meera's spread. So many new dishes.
    Thanks akka.

Thanks Gulabjamun for your nice post.

Try the maida mysore bonda and see. Very simple to make.
You can have it with coconut chutney or chilli sauce.
    Taste will be very yummy.

Gulabjamun uncle Rajraj should have posted the picture of his spread.
So many items, should make a trip to his house next year

    Thanks and take care, Kugan

Rajraj uncle what a wonderful spread. I am sure all would have a gala time.
I am so happy that aunty was given a rest on that day.

Meerra made the dish with vegetarian turkey when I was there for one Thanksgiving.
I love to be in US during winter time, I love the snow and the chill

Uncle, one request from you, I love to make pizzas for my children.
My pizzas are quite o.k, but not as good as the shop.
Can you ask your son for the base recipe for the pizza.
    Thanks and take care, Kugan.

Kannan anneh, thanks for your nice post.
Try the Mysore bonda, very easy. Side dish is coconut chutney or our ooru chilli sauce.
Do you get nice chilli sauce in your country?
Other wise I can post a simple recipe to make the chilli sauce.
    Thanks and take care, Kugan.

Madhu anneh, welcome after a long absence. Take care of your health, very important.

Your work too is important to you, come to the forum when time permits.

I want all my brothers and sisters, and also my uncle to be always healthy and happy.

That's my best present from God.

    Take care anneh, Kugan.

Dear friends, I had two mullangi sitting in my fridge. My relative from India asked me what I would do with that.
I told her will make sambar or puli kulambu with it. She said she will teach me how to make a simple poriyal.
Imm, I still have lot to learn in this world.
    Try it out friends, Kugan.

    MULLANGI STIR FRIED

    Ingredients:

    1 tbs oil
    ¼ tsp mustard seeds
    ¼ tsp cumin seeds
    1 tsp channa dal
    1 tsp urad dal
    1 sprig curry leaves
    ¼ tsp finely chopped ginger

    A pinch of hing
    1 big tomato chopped
    1/8 tsp of turmeric powder
    Salt to taste

    1 tsp chilli powder
1 ½ cups of grated mullangi

    2 tbs coriander leaves chopped
    1 tsp roasted sesame seeds

    Method:
Heat oil in a non stick wok, add in the mustard seeds to splutter.
Add in the cumin seeds, channa dal, urad dal and the ginger.
Stir fry till the dals are lightly golden in colour.

Add in the hing, tomatoes, turmeric powder and salt.
Cook till the tomatoes turn mushy.
Add in the chilli powder and grated mullangi.
Fry on high heat till the mullangi is cooked, and nicely coated with the masala.

Sprinkle the cut coriander leaves and the sesame seeds.
Give a good stir and remove.
