"ஒரு ஊர்ல" என்ற திரைப்படத்தின் இசை வெளியீட்டு விழாவில் பேசிய கேயார், இளையராஜாவை ஆஹா ஓஹோ என்று புகழ்ந்தான். அது வரை பிரச்ச*னை இல்லை. அதற்கு பிறகு அவர் கூறியதுதான் "உலகத்தில் ஆஸ்கார் விருது வாங்கினவங்கள விட இவர்தான் மேதை". இவர் பெயரை சொல்லவில்லையே தவிர இவர் குறிப்பிட்டது யார் என்பது குழந்தைக்கும் தெரியும். கண்டிப்பாக ஜான் வில்லியம்ஸையோ, இல்லை ஹான்ஸ் ஸிம்மரையோ குறிப்பிடவில்லை. அதுக்கப்புறம் அவர் கூறிய பில் கேட்ஸ் சம்பந்தமான விஷயமெல்லாம் வெறும் காமெடி துனுக்குகளே. குண்டு சட்டியில் உட்கார்ந்து குதிரை ஓட்டிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் கேயார் எதற்காக ஒருவரை புகழ்வதற்காக இன்னொருவருடன் ஒப்பிட வேண்டும். "உலகிலேயே சிறந்த இசை மேதை ராஜா" என்று கூறியிருந்தாலே போதுமே. அது அவர் விருப்பம். யாருக்கும் ஒருவரை புகழ்வதற்கு உரிமை உண்டு. ஆனால், எதற்காக ஆஸ்கார் விருது வாங்கினவங்களை வம்புக்கு இழுக்கனும்? இவனுங்களுக்கெல்லாம் என்ன பிரச்சனை? தலைவர் ஆஸ்கார் விருது வாங்காம இருந்திருந்தால் இவனுங்கெல்லாம் சும்மா இருந்திருப்பானுங்களோ.

இது தொடர்ந்து நடந்து கொண்டு வருகிறது. இது போக ஒருவர் இரஹ்மான் ஏன் உணர்வு பூர்வமான படங்களுக்கு இசை அமைப்பதில்லை என்று கேட்டார். சரியான ஊதியம் கொடுத்து காத்திருக்க தயார் என்றால் தலைவர் தாராளமாக அது போன்ற படங்களுக்கு இசை அமைப்பார். யாருக்கும் இலவசமாக செய்து கொடுத்தால் மற்றவர்களும் அந்த சலுகைகளை எதிர்பார்ப்பார்கள். எல்லாருக்கும் செய்து கொடுக்க முடியுமா? அவரும் மனிதர் தான். அவருக்கும் குடும்பம் குழந்தைகள் உண்டு. அவருக்கும் ஒரு நாளைக்கு 24 மணி நேரம்தான்.

இன்னொருவர் ஏன் நாங்கள் கொடுக்க விரும்பிய பாராட்டு விழாவில் கலந்து கொள்ள மறுத்தீர்கள் என்று கேட்டார். அந்த நேரத்தில் இலங்கை பிரச்னை கொழுந்து விட்டு எரிந்தது. இதை கேட்டவரே ஒரு நாள் அடையாள உண்ணா நோன்பு இருக்க மற்ற நடிகர்களை கூட்டி கூட்டம் நடத்தினார். அந்த நேரத்தில் எதற்கு நம் சாதனையை கொண்டாட வேண்டும் என்று தலைவர் அதை பண்போடு நிராகரித்தார். அதற்கு அந்த அல்லக்கை நடிகர் தலைவர் மேல் எரிந்து விழுந்தார். அதற்கும் நம்மவர் பண்போடு பதில் அளித்தார். இதில் இந்தியாவை குறை கூறிய படத்திற்க்குதானே விருது வாங்கினீர்கள் என்று வெட்டி பேச்சு வேறு. அப்புறம் என்ன மண்ணாங்கட்டிக்கு பாராட்டு விழா நடத்த ஆசைப்பட்டீர்கள்? இதில் அந்த குறிப்பிட்ட படத்தின் தமிழ் ஆக்கத்தில் இந்த அல்லக்கை நடிகர் இர்பான் கான் கதாபாத்திரத்திற்கு பின்னணி பேசினார் என்பது தான் காமெடி. உச்ச கட்ட காமெடி "யார் தட்டினாலும் கீபோர்டில் சத்தம் வரும்" என்பதுதான்.

பாலா என் படத்திற்கு இரஹ்மான் இசை ஒத்து வராது என்றார். ஆனால் ஜி.வி.பிரகாஷ் இசை ஒத்து வரும் போல. எல்லாம் வெட்டி பேச்சு.

சூரியனை பார்த்து இவை குறைக்கின்றன. குறைக்கட்டும். ஆனால் இரஹ்மான் இரசிகராக இருந்து இதை எல்லாம் சகித்து கொள்ள முடியவில்லை. இவர்களை எல்லாம் யாரும் இங்கு கண்டிப்பதும் இல்லை. இதை எல்லாம் பார்க்கும் போது ஏண்டா தலைவர் தமிழ் படங்களுக்கு இசை அமைக்க வேண்டும் என்று தோன்றுகிறது. இந்தி படவுலகம் அவரை கொண்டாடுகிறது. அதே சமயம் தமிழ் திரை இசை இரசிகனாக அவர் நிறைய தமிழ் படங்களுக்கு இசை அமைக்க வேண்டும் என்று சுய நலமும் இருக்கிறது.

You cant go and knock sense into the heads of people who believe they are above the rest. Let them stay the way they are. Such twisting of statements have been happening for a while. Even I used to retaliate and then understood that they don't have anything else to do except bash ARR and praise albums which don't even manage to hit audio stores or iTunes.

Who needs stores when you have flipkart or 600024? I am curious as to how and why the mass market availability of a music album determines the validity of its appreciation by a listener. If you are trying to suggest that the fact that they are not in the (few remaining) brick-and-mortar stores or Itunes implies these fans praised it without listening to it, that need not necessarily be true at all. I have albums (not by Ilayaraja) which are not retailed in India and which I got shipped from a US based online retailer for a lot of money (but it was well worth the money and then some, to me).

I sourced Chithairiyil Nila Choru from 600024 and ordered Megha soundtrack direct from the Ilayathaalam website. We are not in the 90s anymore, this is the ecommerce age of India. There are many avenues available for a fan to acquire an album if he really wants to do so.

True Ajay. நான் அங்கு பதிவிட்டிருக்கவே கூடாது. இரஹ்மான் ஒரு வில்லன் என்று யேற்கனவே தீர்மானித்து அவர் நின்றால் குற்றம் நடந்தால் குற்றம் என்று பேசுபவர்களுடன் பேசுவது வீண். இதில் kr (சினிமாக்கார கேயாரா இருப்பாரோ?) என்பவர் இரஹ்மான் வெறுக்கத்தக்கவர், பெருமை தேடி அலைபவர் என்று சகட்டு மேனிக்கு கருத்தளித்திருக்கிறார். அதற்கு பதிலளித்ததோடு சரி, அதன் பிறகு அங்கு செல்லவில்லை. அவர்கள் இடம், அவர்கள் ஏதோ பேசிக்கொள்ளட்டும்.

oh we all know of the many avenues available to buy an album alright. ajay was merely referring to the attitude of some fans to merely trash anything Rahman does and praise anything Raja does for the sake of it. I don't know how long you have been a hubber but I have been visiting tfmpage almost ever since it started. There used to be fans (one SP Mahendran, if I remember correctly, was one such fanatic) who praise albums even before they were released. I think the year was 1999 when Padayappa was released. As usual, hubbers here were having a field day bashing Rahman and the album while praising Raja albums that were released around the same time ("time", and I think the other Fazil movie with Shalini and Vijay - not "kadhalukku mariyadhai). There was some news about an album named "Rajasthan" or "Chinna Durai" and that Raja composed music for it. What followed were comments from some so-called "fans" about how good the album was - even though it wasn't released yet!!! Later when someone pointed out that the album was not released yet, the talk changed to how Raja always makes quality albums and, of course, more Rahman bashing So, some fans do praise without listening.

We all know that individual taste need not be in tune with the market. You may like a song but it may not be a hit. That does not indicate anything about the quality (or lack of it) of a song. But, to say that the market is foolish and "I know better - my taste buds are better" smacks of arrogance and stupidity. No one is bothered if some one doesn't like Rahman's music. I mean, who cares? But, to say "you may fall for his humility" is silly and arrogant. Rahman fans love Rahman for his music. What makes you guys think that we care about his humility. It is a nice quality that he has but I cannot care less if he were less humble or not humble at all. Are Raja fans suggesting that Rahman fans like Rahman only for his "false humility"? That means, we don't care about the music? Or, worse, we don't know what we like? What a mean thing to say.

You and Raja fans may think Rahman is over-rated. Some of my NI friends think Raja is over-rated. Your opinions don't have any more or less value in the market than theirs.

Speaking of "Padayappa", I remember reading comments about how that was the worst Rajni album ever followed by comments about how Rahman will disappear from the scene in couple of years
