Guys, listen to proper MP3 rips. Not those low quality radio rips. Makes a world of difference. Especially on the melodies. Better yet, rip the original CD or find yourself lossless files and be in musical bliss.

Excerpt from this Article : http://www.newindianexpress.com/ente...cle1956222.ece Explaining the sudden urge to get their audio launched ahead of Veeram, producer R B Choudary brushed it off as coincidence, “It is difficult to get a hold of a star like Vijay. Luckily, he was hosting this programme to give five of his initial producers cheques for `5 lakh each as they had fallen on hard times. So, we decided to club the two programmes,” he said but revealed on being pressed further, “Also, there has been a lot of doubt about whether the film will release for Pongal because of a few problems. To reassure people, we have done this event publicly on this stage,” he said.
The ‘problems’ Choudary referred to are the Income Tax raids on his office and their claims that incriminating evidence of disproportinate assets were being studied at present.
Rather unsurprisingly, Vijay himself attended the audio launch, unlike Ajith, who shys away from fanfare and public appearances. Veeram’s audio was launched on a FM station and is available in music stores, while Jilla’s music will be available from Saturday, as originally scheduled.
Explaining the need to donate money to struggling producers who once provided him a foothold into Kollywood, Vijay said, “Everybody puts only effort into films but a producer put money into it. From the puja to when the returns come in, hundreds of people need to be paid and fed, by producers. When I heard that they have financial troubles, people who launched me in my beginning stages, I wanted to do something for them. You may wonder why we have made a spectacle of it, but when good things occur, you must do it immediately. I wanted to meet them in my home or office but my manager didn’t let me do it. Other people may also want to help other struggling producers.” Jilla’s director Neason and music director D Imman were all praise for the way things were proceeding with the film.

Jilla - Audio Review
Jilla is the Pongal Treat of 2014 from Vijay for his fans. Expectations are high on this film as it is expected to join the string of hits Vijay has been churning out ever since Kavalan. Starring Mohanlal in a pivotal role and Kajal Aggarwal paired opposite Vijay for a second time since Thuppakki, the film has music by D.Imman. The music director, a favorite with music lovers with his long list of hits recently has definitely work hard to give an album to satisfy everyone. Without compromising on his trademarks and at the same time keeping in mind Vijay's mass following, he has given a high energy album seasoned with melodies. A brief review of the individual songs follows.
Paatu Onnu Kattu
The album starts literally with a bang of guitar and drums, then Chenda Melam joins in, giving the feel of being in a village festival. A different opening song for a Vijay film, that too a duet, Imman makes sure in giving all the required mass feel to it. SPB and Shankar Mahadevan put in through their voices, the expressions of an affectionate father towards his trustworthy son and a obedient son towards his respected father. A song with the flavour of both Tamil Nadu and Kerala, this is sure to attract the masses in the first listen itself. Simple and meaningful lyrics by Yugabarathy are catchy.
Verasa Pogayile
This romantic ballad sung by Imman himself has simple western orchestration where the violin and whistling interludes stand out. Beautifully written lyrics by Parvathy explaining the after effects of falling on love, are brought to life by Imman by his expressive singing. This is one of the best solos by the music director. Though a little better work could have been done on composing the harmony, on the whole the song emerges as a winner. It seems "Verasaa pogayile" means "when going swiftly" in Madurai slang. New word for the day!
Jingunamani
A folkish fast beat song with a slight touch of carnatic too here and there and with heavy percussions, this will set you swinging to the beat. Simple and colloquial lyrics makes it easier to sing along. Sunidhi Chauhan and Ranjith who have both sung many hit solo songs Vijay films earlier, come together for this high energy number. The Veena interlude, a favorite in Imman songs is there here too. It is sad that the song is short with only one charanam. Nevertheless, short duration, high impact cracker of a song. Aamaango!
Kandaangi Kandaangi
The Chinese violin that plays at the very beginning of this song, takes you to a different world altogether. As if that was not enough, Vijay and Shreya Ghosal with their "Kanjaa vecha Kuralu" export you to another level of eternal bliss. A very very scintillating melody that requires a thorough professional to execute it, has been handled in the best possible way by the lead singers. No one would have expected this level of excellence from Vijay, though we all know he is a brilliant singer. The kick in Vijay's voice with the nasha in Sherya's voice makes this a perfect folk cocktail. The parts in harmony are awesomely done by both singers and same holds good for the finale also. Imman makes best arrangement of this song with lot of string instruments especially the chinese violin and mild percussion. Vairamuthu's lyrics after a long time in Vijay film is an added icing on this cake.
Yeppa Maama Treat
Super singer fame A.V.Pooja enters a new genre of her career in film singing with this kuthu number. Imman also has a diametrically opposite avatar in this song compared to Verasa Pogayile song. The changeover from western to folk and from fast to faster beats towards the end is done casually and neatly. With English rap and folkish lyrics, this is a perfect party song. It will rock the theatres with the visuals and Vijay's dance.
Jilla Theme
A perfect ending to the high energy album with backing vocals from Super Singer contestants, this theme rocks all through and will definitely be a treat to watch on screen with scenes. Lyrics portraying the characteristics of Jilla aka Ilayathalapathy Vijay written by Viveka are excellent. Here too, the transition from western to country side has been done neatly. The Chenda Melam towards the end and that particular arrangement transports us to God's own country for a moment, only to return back to the first song of the album once again.
Innordhabaa!

Everything about 'Jilla' has been creating headlines. From the opening song involving more than a thousand to the track that Vijay himself sang, expectations about this album has been high all along. Now with the album being received in hugely positive opinion, here's a briefing of the musical magic that Imman has worked on the upcoming Vijay, Mohanlal, Kajal starrer.
1. Pattu Onnu Listen here
Lyricist : Yugabharathi
Singer : SP. Balasubramaniam, Shankar Mahadevan
'Jilla' opens on a highly appealing and extremely energetic song, that more than lives up to the promises about this track. Bringing electric guitar and traditional chenda beats together in an interesting mix, Imman has delivered in all grandeur, the opening song to which stalwarts will be tapping their feet. Shankar opens the song in all zeal, and SPB adds in later to make it a wholesome joyous listening experience. Apart from the predominant guitar and chendas, viola is also used to add to the magnum opus. The song gets very high on energy in the musical experience between the second and third stanzas. Mohanlal is Siva and Vijay's screen name is Sakthi in 'Jilla'; that explains part of the lyrics. Speaking of friendship and an optimistic and mutually encouraging relationship, 'Pattu Onnu' is a mass song in all respects.
2.Verasa Pogayile Listen here
Lyricist : Parvathy
Singer : D. Imman
The second one this album is a romantic track high on violins. With typical Imman touch, this romantic solo uses violins extensively. Starting and ending in whistles, the song is a beautiful melody with simple lyrics, apt for a young lad who's just stumbled upon love. The song has strings of English influence, and it captures the mood of rapture in the right measure. Signature musical pieces by Imman are always outstanding and the one here in violins is no exception to the rule.
3.Jingunamani Listen here
Lyricist : Viveka
Singer : Ranjith, Sunidhi Chauhan
Roping in Sunidhi Chauhan for a folk-style song, this track is quite a thoroughly unpredictable surprise package. The track starts with air instruments and opens in Sunidhi's rustic voice on Viveka's raunchy lyrics. As Ranjith adds to the duet, the song proceeds further at a foot-tapping pace. Different varieties of guitars are used in this song, which add depth and volume to the track. The signature music after first and second stanzas are trademark of Imman, and uplift the overall listening experience. Beats all along the song are heavy and thumping, creating an energetic aura about the song.
4. Kandaangi Kandaangi Listen here
Lyricist : Vairamuthu
Singers : Vijay, Shreya Ghoshal
One of the most awaited songs of 'Jilla' is here. For a change, Vijay has crooned for a romantic melody in 'Kandangi Kandangi'; it is the actor who opens the song after the female hum, and he has sung like a pro in this track. Shreya sings the coy yet taunting repartee to Vijay's lines, making the duet a lovers' anthem. Vairamuthu's prowess cannot be measured in words, and it has been captured right in this intelligent composition. Given the lyricist's complex usage of language, Shreya's pronunciation deserves a special mention for making the song clean and hitch-free. This track uses violins in enchanting notes and strings.
5. Yeppa Maama Treatu Listen here
Lyricist : Viveka
Singer : D. Imman, AV. Pooja, Snigdha Chandra
'Jilla' sure is a treat to all the fans, and this song is about it all. There is almost seldom a reason for treat, but parties are fun unlimited. 'Yeppa Maama Treatu' is a party song in hip-hop style. The track opens in Pooja's voice and is a foot-tapping number, to which you can get on the dance floor and start dancing. The party gets a Tamil folk twist after the second stanza, when the pace slows down to the change in beats. It quickly transcends to faster beats, and the transitions are smooth without any glitch. Keys used for this song are a quirky addition to the party-happy song.
6. Jilla Theme Listen here
Lyricist : Viveka
Singer : Santhosh Hariharan, Deepak, Anand, Shenbagaraj
The best way to describe this song is to call it the rise of the heroes. Racy and energetic, the song begins in disco genre. This track is highly appealing as it is carried in chorus, which carries a certain positivity about it. Tamil rap after the second stanza speaks of the fighting spirit and warrior-like brave attitude of the hero. The last 60 seconds of this 3-minute long high-energy song introduces chendas, and it gets better at every beat, making the song an extraordinary track full of josh climaxing in a powerful end.
The nail-biting wait has come to an end, and 'Jilla' has matched up to expectations to the fullest. Imman has composed some of the finest tunes, tailor-made for the youthful josh. But it is not restricted one age-group - the songs are for all, as everyone will enjoy this energy, without exception. With this, the expectations about the film has risen up multiple notches, as we gear up for a smashing Pongal this January.
Rating: 3.9/5

Vijay, Mohanlal starrer Jilla is currently progressing with its re-recording and other post-productionworks. The latest we hear is the makers are planning to release the film in Auro11.1. Auro 11.1 is s a three layer sound technology which produced the better output than Auro 3D and Dolby Atmos. Recently this technology was introduced and recently released film Vidiyum Munn also features this technology. Vishwaroopam and Kochadaiiyaan are also said to be released with this technology. Jilla is currently scheduled for January 10th as a Pongal release!

Director Nesan about Ilayathalapathy Vijay & Jilla
“After working in films such as Nanban and Thuppakki, he was very clear that the film should be sensible and closer to life. If I narrated a stunt scene where he was doing something unrealistic, he would stop me and ask me to keep it simple. Yet, one cannot take Vijay out of a Vijay film. It is a film set in Madurai. But, it won’t focus on the rural Madurai which we have seen in many films. In Jilla, I have tried to showcase a Madurai in transition: semi-modern, a more urban Madurai. It is not just a film to prop-up the hero, there is a story in it.
