It was entertaining and gripping.......the plot might be a little over the top

A "classic" year, I suppose. Nice that you bring up such films. Here is a short list, I would recommend for the moment :

Manthira Kumari : its has some fabulous dance, pretty girls, awesome songs and some outstanding stunts.

Marmayogi : Rebel MGR, but its Nambiar all the way. An enchating tale of power & deception

Gulebakavali : Chandra babu mannerisms, top notch BGM & that song haunts me eveytime I hear it "Aasaiyum Nesamum"

Here is a British suspense movie "Chase A Crooked Shadow" - an original plot, gripping suspense, good performence, clever script & hooking narrative. If you watch it, let me know, we can talk about its adaptation.

பூங்கோதை: "...நேர் வழியில் வராமல்..வீட்டில் யாருக்கும் தெரியாமல் இப்படி குறுக்கு வழியிலா வருவது?"

மலைக்கள்ளன்: "மலரிடம் ஓடி வரும் வண்டு - தோட்டக்காரனை எழுப்பி சொல்லி விட்டா வருகிறது?!"

i was impressed by the lazy act of comedian T. S. Durairaj...

there is a flaw in the movie..
titles are shown at the start itself giving the names of actors & the characters they play... MGR has 3 characters & they list all 3..
3rd character is actually a twist in the screenplay
