Here is one very popular song from the film ‘baMgArada manushya’ on this MAY DAY.
Song describes about ‘WORK IS WORSHIP’ and ‘WHERE THERE IS WILL THERE IS A WAY’.
Inspirative lyrics by Shri R N Jayagopal and melodious tune by Shri G K Venkatesh sung by legend Shri PBS.

    citra: baMgArada manuShya (1972)
    gAyana: pi bi shrInivAs
    saMgIta: ji ke vaMkaTEsh
    sAhitya: Ar en jayagOpAl

    Agadu eMdu kaikaTTi kuLitare..
kailAgadu eMdu kaikaTTi kuLitare sAgadu kelasavu muMde
    manasoMdiddare mArgavu uMTu keccede irabEkeMdu
    keccede irabEkeMdeMdu /Agadu/

    kettalAgadu kaggalleMdu edeguMdiddare shilpi..
    Agutitte kalegaLa bIDu
    gommaTEshana nelenADu
    bElUru haLebIDu /Agadu/

    kAvEriyanu hariyalu biTTu..
    vishvEshvarayya shramapaDadiddare
    kannaMbADiya kaTTadiddare
    baMgAra beLeva honnADu
    Agutitte I nADu kannaDa sirinADu
    namma kannaDa sirinADu /Agadu/

    kaikesarAdare bAyi mosareMba
    hiriyara anubhava satya ida
    nenapiDabEku nitya
    duDimeya naMbi baduku
    adarale dEvara huDuku
    bALali baruvudu beLaku namma
    bALali baruvudu beLaku /Agadu/

    Meaning of the song:

If you sit quietly with folded hands (kaikaTTi kuLitare) saying it is not possible (Agadu eMdu - kailAgadu eMdu)
then nothing is possible (sAgadu kelasavu muMde)
where there is will there is a way (manasoMdiddare mArgavu uMTu)
always (eMdeMdu) you should have courageous mind (keccede irabEku)

If the sculptor (shilpi) was kept quiet (edeguMdiddare) saying that the stone (kaggalleMdu) is very hard and
not possible to carve anything out of it (kettalAgadu)
then there would not have been the (Agutitte kalegaLa bIDu) land/statue of GOMATESHWAR (gommaTEshana nelenADu),
intricate carvings at BELURU and HALEBEEDU (Amarashilpi Jakanachari's sculpture)

If VISHVESHVARAYYA (vishvEshvarayya) had not taken pains (shrama paDadiddare) to build kannambadi bridge (kannaMbADiya kaTTAdiddare)
near Mysore to KAVERI river to flow as it is (kAvEriyanu hariyalu biTTu),
the agricultural lands in MANDYA and MYSORE would not have grown golden crops (baMgAra beLeva honnADu) like Sugarcane,Rice,Coconuts,
this part of KARNATAKA would not see any developments.(Agutitte sirinADu namma kannaDa sirinADu)

Hard work begets reward always (kai kesarAdare bAyi mosaru eMba)
(Kannada proverb – kai kesarAdare bAyi mosaru – If your hands get mud, your mouth will get curds)
This is the fact (satya) and experience (anubhava) of old generation (hiriyara) and
we should remember this everday (ida nenapiDabEku nitya).
Work is worship - Life depends on our hard-work (duDimeya naMbi baduku)
we shall find GOD in our duty (adarale dEvara huDuku)
then only we shall find bright future in our life (namma bALali baruvudu beLaku)

Here is a comedy scene between Dwarakish, TN Balakrishna and Bangalore Nagesh from the film ‘Bangarada manushya’.
Shivalingu (Dwarakish) wanted to get marry. His father Rachutappa (TN Balakrishna) insists that he should be wise enough to get marry.
Shivalingu again demands to get him married otherwise he will attempt suicide. Rachutappa easily agrees to his decession of attempting suicide. Shivalingu requests for Rs. 5/- to have Tea before he attempts suicide. Father accepts and gives money also. His action was questioned by the barber (Bangalore Nagesh) and Rachutappa tells him that his son will never attempt suicide and he will be back to home through back-door.
Shivalingu goes to a pond and wait for the water to become hot before he jumps into the pond. Rajeeva (Rajkumar) on his way to village finds Shivalingu and convinces him and take him back to village.
    Dialogue is by Hunasur Krishnamurthy.

Thank you RR. There are innumerable songs like this in Kannada films. Most of the audios are not available. Videos which are available are either incomplete with broken lyrics and scenes or completely cut off. Very unfortunate!

New BJP Government is fromed at the Center now.
Let us have good ‘hopes/desires’ about this new government.
When I say ‘hopes/desires’ (‘Ase’ in Kannada), it is like a vessel that never fills, and It reminds me of
a song from the film ‘makkaLe manege mANikya’ (which gives the meaning - Children are gems for a Home)
a b/w film released during 1969. Here two children will step out from their home in search of their father and after
so many troules/hardships, they will succeed in their mission.

    Details about the film:
    http://kannadamoviesinfo.wordpress.c...-manikya-1969/

    Lyric follows:

    citra: makkaLe manege mANikya
    gAyana: pi bi shrInivAs
    saMgIta: vijaya bhAskar
    sAhitya: gItapriya

Aseyu muMde muMde ellaru adara hiMde..
    Aseye illada hRudayagaLilla
    Aseyu illade jagave illa /Aseyu/

    ellara manadali Aseya jAtre
    Aseyu eMdigu tuMbada pAtre
    shaktiya mIrida sAhasadeDege
    hasuLegaLannu dUDuvudu
    nagutA ADuva vayasinali
    enitO ciMteya nIDuvudu /Aseyu/

    Aseya joteyali heNedire bALu
    adake jIvanadali I gOLu
    kaShTadi tuMbire Aseya jADu
    adarali naDeyuta paDuvaru pADu
    mRugajaladaMte kANalu hattira
    hiDiyalu naDedare ati dUra /Aseyu/

    Meaning of the song:

Desire/hope (Aseyu) is always ahead (muMde muMde)
all of us (ellaru) after those desires (adara hiMde)
There is no human beings without hopes (Aseye illada hRudayagaLilla)
There is no world without hopes/desires (Aseyu illade jagave illa)

fair (jAtre) of desires (Aseya) in every-body’s (ellara) mind (manadali)
hope/desire (Aseyu) is like a vessel (pAtre) that never (eMdigu) fills (tuMbada)
pushing (dUDuvudu) the children (hasuLegaLannu) to achieve daring acts
(sAhasadeDege) surpassing (mIrida) their strength (shaktiya)
at the age (vayasinali) of playing (ADuva) with smile/laugh (nagutA)
gives (nIDuvudu) them so many (enitO) worries (ciMteya)

Life (bALu) is weaved (heNedire) with (joteyali) hopes (Aseya)
that is why (adake) this (I) grief (gOLu) in this life (jIvanadali)
road (jADu) to achieve desire (Aseya) is full (tuMbire) of difficulties (kaShTadi)
getting (paDevaru) hardships (pADu) by stepping (naDeyuta) on that road (adarali)
looks (kANalu) very near (hattira) like mirage (mRugajaladaMte)
but if you walk (naDedare) to catch (hiDiyalu) it, it runs away (ati dUra)
