A SMALL TRIBUTE TO A BIG LEGEND.

Nagireddi remembers M.G.R.'s successful duel roll in "ENGA VEETTU PILLAI " and its
historical success. Later M.G.R. telling Nagireddy that he wanted to make a film to find
out how people would react to his entry into politics .

Nagireddy suggested M.G.R., remaking the telugu hit film 'Kathanayagudu " which
featured N.T. Rama Rao. M.G.R. agreed and "NAM NAADU " was made to release.

When it was released , both M.G.R. and Nagireddy went to Chithra theatre to watch the
reaction of the viewers. Except for the manager, no one was aware of our presence.
It was a pleasant evening and the doors had been kept wide open.M.G.R. stood leaning
on one side of the door I (Nagireddy ) was leaning on the other.

There was a scene in which Jayalalitha, heroine of the movie appeared singing the song
Vangaiyaa, vaathiyaaraiyaa while welcoming M.G.R. after his victory in the elections.

The Audience rose as one man cheering, clapping whistling. There were cries.
We (M.G.R. and Nagireddy ) wanted to see the scene again!. Repeat the scene!.
We advised the manager to oblige the audience. The reel was rewound and the sequence was shown again I turned to M.G.R. His eyes were filled with tears of joy. He hugged me. O' Reddiar ! I have received the people "s acceptance ,M.G.R. said.
