I'm not sure I understand what he's referring to here. Everybody knows that Avvai Shanmukhi was inspired by Mrs. DoubtFire and completely Indianized to suit local audiance. How does this kanden seetaiyai or whatever get to this ? Was he inspired by the same movie (Mrs. DoubtFire) in the first place ...

Theme ofcourse was similar. But the point I want to bring is (or question rather) why Kamal always keeps silence !
Actually Balachandramenon later acted in a very similar movie like Avvai Shanmukhi !! (The difference was that he had 3 daughters and he came as an old man to assist - not as a lady)
Best of luck - dear Tamil Film Industry ! ! !

I would think he responds to ones that he thinks are worth his time and needed clarification. An example here would be his immediate response to allegations that he 'copied' the uttama-villain avatar from a French artist. His response was that nobody really owns a cultural and a traditional makeup that is prevalent in a society for centuries. That appeared to have silenced the critics. In this case however it seems rather obvious that his inspirations came from another source and not Balachandramenon! Unless I got it wrong ...

Ya.. debatable.. when a highly respected film personality makes such a public allegation... ya.. nothing wrong in keeping silence..
But if we ignore the internet community (+ some minority count) who knows about Mrs. Doubtfire?
But Kanden Seetaye theme is same and the malayalam version was a super hit !!!
If nammavar does not care.. then why should we ?
But when that guy was imitating (mimicing) how Kamal spoke, I felt very bad.
Best of luck - dear Tamil Film Industry ! ! !

No one can know what exactly transpired, for sure. I doubt though someone will make a public allegation unless there is "some" truth.

    Kamal's Take on 'Kochadaiiyaan'

The world may seem them as rivals in the profession, but Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan are the best of buddies who stand by each other through thick and thin (remember Rajini's support for Kamal during 'Vishwaroopam' trouble?). 'Kochadaiiyaan' hit the silver screen world wide on Friday and has thus been receiving positive feedback from every corner. It was arranged for Kamal Hassan to watch the film at a special show, as organised by Soundarya Rajinikanth and the actor enjoyed watching the movie. Congratulating everyone on the success of the movie and also noting that they have performed well, Kamal specially congratulated Soundarya to have brought the new concept to Tamil audience and Indian cinema at large.

Watched 'Meendum Gokila' recently. Simple story with a neat ending .. Sridevi simply excelled overshadowing everyone else! I believe she received a Filmfare Award in the Best Actress category for her role. A talented actress that she is, her career graph took off and she moved on to Hindi. Guess her acting skills was never spoken of after that.

I was surprised to note that the actor who plays her cousin is none other than the late 'omakuchi' narasimhan. Could have been in his 30's and just didnt recognize him !

Kamal planning another Mohan Lal film remake?

We all know that Padma Bhushan actor Kamal Haasan will be acting in the Tamil remake of Malayalam Superstar Mohan Lal's super hit film 'Drishyam' in the near future. Now news about Kamal remaking another Mohan Lal film has started spreading haywire.

Mohan Lal is currently acting in the Malayalam film 'Peruchazhi' that is being directed by Arun Vaidyanathan of 'Achamundu Achamundu' fame. The film is progressing in the US and 60% of the shoot has been completed. Now it is being said that Kamal Haassan has expressed his interest to remake 'Peruchazhi' in Tamil.

Director Arun has denied this saying that nothing has come out from Kamal about the remake. The director said that though Kamal Haasan knows the script of 'Perchazhi' he has not yet spoken anything about remaking it. The director was however quick to add that he was a big fan of Kamal and will be more than happy to work with him on any day.
