கோபால் சொன்னது போல நம்மிடம் நிறைய விஷயங்கள் பேச,எழுத உள்ளன - அங்கு நடப்பதை இங்கு விமர்சனம் செய்துதான் நம் திரியை ரொப்ப வேண்டும் என்ற ஒரு கட்டாயம் நமக்கில்லைதான் - இருந்தாலும் சற்றே மனம் விட்டு சிரிக்கவாது அவர்கள் பதிவுகளை படிப்பதிலும் அவைகளை இங்கு உங்களிடம் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வதிலும் தவிறில்லை என்று நினைக்கிறேன் ----- இந்த பதிவு ஒரு கற்பனையே ( யார் கண்டது கூடிய சீக்கிரத்தில் அங்கு உண்மையாகவே இவைகளை பதிவிடலாம் )

நாகேஷ் நவாப் : ஒரு இனிய செய்தி - AO வின் பிரமாண்டமான வெற்றிக்கு பிறகு சொக்கலிங்கம் ரிக்க்ஷாகாரனை டிஜிட்டல் மூலமாக வெளியிட திட்டம் போட்டுள்ளார் - அவர் அவர் குடும்பத்துடன் பேசி கொண்டிருக்கும் போது இந்த செய்தி நம் நண்பருக்கு தெரிய வந்தது - சுமார் 350 திரை அரங்குகளில் வெளிவரலாம் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கபடுகிறது - அமெரிக்காவிலும் அன்றே விவேகானந்தா தெருவில் இருக்கும் 10 திரை அரங்குகளிலும் வெளியிட எண்ணம் உள்ளதாம் - இந்த படம் 25, 50 , 75, 100 நாட்கள் ஓட்டியாக வேண்டும் என்ற சொக்கலிங்கத்தின் நிபந்தனையை ஒப்புக்கொள்ளாத திரை அரங்குகளில் இந்த படம் வராது என்று தெரிய வருகிறது .

நாகூர் ரஹீம் : அருமை PK சார் ; Illogic என்ற பத்திரிகையில் 1983 ஆம் ஆண்டு வெளிவந்த ஒரு பதிவை இங்கே போடுவதில் பெருமை படுகிறேன் - அந்த பதிவில் பீர்பால் என்பவர் சொல்லுகிறார் இப்படி :

MGR நேற்றைக்கு ஒன்று , இன்றைக்கு ஒன்று என்று சொல்பவர் இல்லை - அவர் படங்களை பார்த்தாலே தெரியும் - எவ்வளவு ஆண்டுகள் ஆனாலும் படங்களில் அன்று வந்த கதை தான் இன்றும் இருக்கும் - அன்று கேட்ட பாடல்கள் தான் இன்றும் அந்த படங்களில் கேட்கலாம் - இவ்வளவு ஏன் - அன்று அந்த படங்களில் நடித்த கதா நாயகிகள் தான் இந்த ரீ -ரிலீஸ் இல் வருவார்கள் - இந்த அதிசயம் MGR படங்களில் மட்டுமே சாத்தியம் ----

இந்த திரியில் இந்த பதிவை இடுவதில் மிகுந்த மன வேதனை அடைகிறேன் - AO சரியாக ஓடவில்லை என்ற உண்மையை நம் திரியை சார்ந்த நண்பர்கள் மாற்று திரியில் உள்ளவர்களிடம் சொல்லி வருத்தப்பட்டதாக எனக்கு செய்தி வந்துள்ளது - உண்மையே பேச கூடாது என்ற ஒரு கட்டுப்பாட்டில் வளர்ந்தவர்கள் நாம் - நான் எவ்வளவோ தடவை சொல்லியிருக்கிறேன் உண்மைக்கும் நமக்கும் துளி கூட சம்பந்தம் இல்லை என்று - தொடர்ந்து நம் உண்மைகளை சொல்லி கொண்டிருந்தால் அது நம் தலைவருக்கு நாம் இழைக்கும் அநீதி - கொடுமை - நம் திரி நண்பர்கள் புரிந்து கொள்வார்கள் என நம்புகிறேன் .

Ravi. They want to maintain their status as a 'frog in the well' forever, without having any interest on what is happening outside and how things have shaped up in the modern era... like that. We in our thread discuss even the minus points of some of our icon's movies and even suggest trimmings of old classics for a rerun. They don't even want to recognize other actors in the field of sword fights! they get angry if we mention the swashbuckling sword wielding by Errol Flynn or Douglas Fairbanks or our 'Vijayapuri Veeran' / 'Veerath thirumagan' Anandan or Chandralekha's Ranjan! The stylish handling of sword by our own NT is also irksome to them. As far cine stunts are concerned, lot of changes have taken place till date technologically as well as in human skill development such as Bruce Lee's Kung Fu, Jackie Chan's acrobatics, riveting stunt scenes of Sean Connery in his original Bond movies, Action King Arjun's perfected stunt display,......what not! How their icon's old styled 'Gumman Kuththu' or tishyum tishyum or kambu veechu or 'kaththi chandai'will be received in the present era wherein people long for different story content like Drishyam. This is the reason why NT's movies last long even after decades and are well received in reruns.

இதை விட ஒரு அண்ட பொய்யும் , ஆகாச பொய்யும் இருக்குமா ? ஒருவர் எழுதினார் மவுண்ட் ரோட் இல் இருக்கும் LIC building இல் தீ விபத்து - அதனால் தாம்பரத்தில் படம் பார்க்க வரும் கூட்டம் குறைந்தது என்று - இப்பொழுது இன்னுருவர் எழதுகிறார் , ரெகார்ட்ஸ் எல்லாம் தீயில் அழிந்து விட்டது என்று ஆனால் அவருக்கு நினைவில் இருக்கிறதாம் - தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் எல்லாம் கெஞ்சினார்களாம் அவரால் மற்ற படங்கள் எதுவுமே ஓடவில்லை என்று - பொய் சொல்லும் வாய்க்கு போஜனம் கிடைக்காது என்பார்கள் - இவர்கள் அதைப்பற்றி கவலை படுவதில்லை - பொய்களையே போஜனமாக நினைத்து சாப்பிடுகிறார்கள் !!

வாழ்வாங்கு வாழ்ந்தார் - என்ற தலைப்பில் nt - mgr யை பற்றி கூறினதாக வினோத் அவர்கள் அங்கு ஒரு ஆவணத்தை பதிவிட்டுள்ளார் - அதில் ஒரு இடத்தில் nt சொல்கிறார் " அண்ணன், சிவாஜி வேடத்தில் நடிக்காததால் , அந்த வேடம் எனக்கு கிடைத்தது -அந்த வேடத்தின் பெயரே எனக்கு கிடைத்தது. நிலைத்தும் விட்டது .இதுவே என் வாழ்க்கையில் ஒரு திருப்பு முனையாக அமைந்தது "

எவ்வளவு தன்னடக்கம் ஒருவருக்கு இருந்தால் இப்படி சொல்ல முடியும் ? இப்படி சொல்ல ஒரு அசாதரணமான தையிரியம் ஒருவருக்கு இருக்கவேண்டும் - புகழை மறைத்துக்கொள்ள துணிவு வேண்டும் - ஒரு சாமர்த்தியமும் இல்லாமலே சிலர் துள்ளும் இந்த உலகத்தில் , இப்படியும் ஒரு மாமேதை - இவரை நாம் பெற என்ன தவம் செய்திருக்க வேண்டும் ?

இவர் மட்டும் சிவாஜியாக நடிக்காமல் வேறு எவராவது ஒருவர் அந்த வேடத்தில் நடித்திருந்தால் ( நினைத்து பார்க்கவே முடியவில்லை ) - மராட்டிய சிவாஜியின் ஆத்மா இன்றுவரை சாந்தி அடைந்திருக்காது என்பது 100% நிச்சயம் !!

Hats off to you for your wonderful analysis of the 'Engey Nimmadhi' song and, in the process, a bit of history about Shivaji Films. Hope you will allow me to comment on two facts about Pudhiya Paravai songs as well as a situational scene. A visiting Afro-American music band was cajoled by Henry Daniel, one of the two assistants of Viswanathan Ramamurthy, to appear for the 'Paartha Gnyabagam Illaiyo' song scene. It is not certain whether the tune of this song was pre-recorded and the band members just acted out the musical scene like in the case of the bongo player. Or whether VR tuned it after taking a cue as to how the band members play according to their unique styles. I was also given to understand that TKR was tasked with the orchestration of the now-famous '100-instruments' for the Engey Nimmadhi song.

The other fact, although may seem trivial, is that Singapore never had a railway of its own during that era (1964). Trains ran from Malaysia to the deepest end of Singapore city displaying the emblem 'MR' which means 'Malayan Railway'. But, in that anti-climax scene where Sowcar Janaki is about to meet her fate, the train coaches shown had the words 'SR' purportedly to signify 'Singapore Railway'! Save for this factual error, I really felt like seeing Pudhiya Paravai all over again just by reading your analysis! Kudos and please keep the momentum going so as to inspire fans like me to give their respective takes too.

The train scenes were picturised in Tamilnadu, not in Singapore. The 'SR' denotes Southern Railway (of India). But told in story, it is happening in Singapore.

Only the street scenes in starting of flash back are taken in Singapore (because Chinese name boards are there).

The role of cell phone and internet are significant in the present era of story telling in cinemas. When we see films like Pudhiya Paravai or Thirisoolam (waiting for the trunk calls) or Ulagam sutrum vaaliban (searching the persons by loud singing or calling them loudly in public) or similar movies like Priya where communication gap played a vital role between the characters we realize the importance of cell phone. If we want to remake these movies now, then entire story line needs to be changed!!
