Kamal Haasan, for the first time in 20 years ...

Ulaganayagan fans have a chance to rejoice. In his own words, for the first time in 20 years, Kamal Haasan has two movies that are almost ready to release at the same time – Uttama Villain, directed by Ramesh Arvind, and Vishwaroopam 2, directed by Kamal himself.

While Uttama Villain’s 21st century portions are done, the shoot for its 8th century portions are going on in Chennai. And, the post-production work of Vishwaroopam 2 is going on in full swing, and will be completed soon.

Meanwhile, it is said that the actor is also working on his remake of the Mohanlal starrer Drishyam.

''Marudhanayagam can be revived any moment'' ...

Marudhanayagam is a film which is close to every Indian cinema fan's heart. Kamal Haasan started this period magnum opus at a time in the mid-1990s when VFX works weren't that prominent in Indian cinema. A lot of junior artists numbering in the 1000s were involved in the movie and extensive costumes and make-up had to be used for all these junior artistes. Kamal couldn't proceed beyond a point due to budget constraints and also the aforementioned VFX drawbacks prevalent then.

But now, the Ulaganayagan has plans of reviving the movie and it may happen as early as next year. We hear that he had shot about 25% of the movie back then. In a recent interaction with fans, this is what Kamal had to say to a poser on reviving Marudhanayagam.

"Even I want to know when it will happen. Unfortunately, I won’t get the budget from local producers here. It is not a local film, but a film to be made in three languages — Tamil, French and English. But, it can be revived any moment."

This is one film which would surely be worth the long wait!

Recently I watched a malayalam movie Drishyam starring Mohanlal. A fantastic movie that can be done by Kamal only if remade in Tamil. All the characters in that movie have been carved carefully and all the supporting actors particularly the police constable Sahadevan's role is a scene stealer! I will be happy if the rumour that Kamal is going to act in Drishyam remake is true. But one thing... there are no stunt scenes... Mohanlal is getting beaten by the constable frequently. Kamal is beyond all these image building...we know. Sure Kamal can still refine this character and make Drishyam in Tamil a worthy movie

'Drishyam' remake to have Nellai background

The Padma Bhushan Kamal Haasan will be starring in a remake film after a gap of four years after completing his current projects 'Uttama Villain' and 'Viswaroopam II'. As it has been reported earlier, the veteran actor will take up the Tamil remake of Malayalam super hit film 'Drishyam' to be directed by Jeetu Joseph, who directed the original with Mohan Lal and Meena in lead roles. The film is expected to go on floors in September.

While Kamal will reprise the role played by Mohan Lal, so many speculations on who will replace Meena in the Tamil remake have done the rounds right from the day the project was announced. There were also reports suggesting that Gauthami, one of the leading heroes of late 80's and 90's will be making a comeback, playing the wife of Kamal Haasan in this film. Now sources reveal that Gauthami being cast for the role is certain.

It is said that Kamal and Gauthami will be acting as a couple from Thirunelveli. It is to be remembered that Mollywood Superstar and Meena acted as a middle class Christian couple living in a rural locality in Kerala.

If this is true, we can be assured of the original Thirunelveli (Nellai) dialect of Tamil being spoken by in the film by 'Mr.Perfect' Kamal Haasan.

திரிஷ்யம் ரீமேக்கில் நெல்லை தமிழ் பேசி நடிக்கிறார் கமல்

மோகன்லால், மீனா நடித்து மலையாளத்தில் வெற்றிகரமாக ஓடிய ‘திரிஷ்யம்’ படம் தமிழில் ‘ரீமேக்’ ஆகிறது.

இதில் மோகன்லால் வேடத்தில் கமல் நடிக்கிறார். மீனா வேடத்தில் நடிக்க சிம்ரன், நதியா உள்ளிட்டோர் பரிசீலிக்கப்பட்டனர். தற்போது கவுதமி நடிக்கப் போவதாக தகவல் வெளியாகியுள்ளது. கவுதமி நீண்ட நாட்களாக படங்களில் நடிக்காமல் ஒதுங்கி இருந்தார். தற்போது திரிஷ்யம் ‘ரீமேக்’ மூலம் மீண்டும் நடிக்க வருகிறார்.

திருநெல்வேலி பின்னணியில் இந்த படத்தை எடுக்கின்றனர். திருநெல்வேலியில் வசிக்கும் நடுத்தர தம்பதி கேரக்டரில் கமல், கவுதமி நடிக்கின்றனர். கமல், படம் முழுவதும் நெல்லை தமிழ் பேசி நடிக்கிறார். இதற்காக அவர் நெல்லை தமிழ் பேசி பயிற்சி எடுத்து வருகிறார்.

தற்போது உத்தமவில்லன் படத்தில் கமல் நடித்து வருகிறார். இந்த படம் முடிந்ததும் திரிஷ்யம் பட வேலைகள் துவங்குகின்றன.
