Dear friends,
It is happy to see the people of my community. I started reading Tamil through the first Irumbukai Mayavi book. Which is happens to be the first Issue of Mutthu Comics and Irumbukai Mayavi. That book was gifted to me by Mother. Those memories are very very green. Now I want to collect comics as free downloadable format/scanned images of old comics. I am serching for all the heros of Muthu,Lion, Thihil, Mini lion, Indrajal Comics etc.,
If anybody knows or having scanned images please send me a copy.

Hi,
I grew up with muthu and lion comics, learned to draw from them, and am now in a profession where i am illustrating for comic books(among other things like computer animation). Thanks to my dad and sister, I have a collection of more than 500 comic books (all tamil, mostly, muthu, lion, thihil) from late 70s to 1992 (i've lost touch after that) Now i'm planning to start making comics with tamil heros (i'm already working on one) Regarding this i wanted to know whether lion comics will be interested, and if yes whom should i contact (i will be ready with sample images by next week)
I like thank Mr. Vijayan for all the books which gave a good exposure to international art-work which helped me greatly over the years

Dear Friends,
It's become my routine now to go to lioncomics.com and read the discussion.
To share a few thoughts,When I was 11-12 years old(1975),my father will give me 10 paise daily.I used to save that without buying any eatables to buy Muthu Comics.Imagine how hard it would have been.I started a small library at the same age in my brothers name(Baskar Library)in Devadanapatti. My father brought a carpenter home to make a small cupboard for that.I had 50 members for that. Most of the books were Muthu Comics. To become a member one has to donate a Muthu Comics book. For reading they have to give me 10 paise. After seeing my interest, my father bought me Muthu comics regularly. After gone out of my village for higher studies, whenever I visited my village,I used to read all of them again and again.I would have read them numerous times. Now no one of my family lives there. My father is no more. What a wonderful days.My Tamil interest made my younger brother to become a tamil Teacher(M.Lit) Now I am developing a Library here.I have over 1000 books in it in which Tamil will be 100.I want to introduce tamil comics for the tamil childre here in and around New york that includes my children.I would appreciate your help in this regard.I am an active member of Newyork Tamil Sangam and New York Christhava Tamil Koil.We are trying to teach Tamil for our children(100s of them are here)Most of them do not know to read, write and speak Tamil.Comics reading will enhance their tamil interest.Pls help me.I have already bought available comics from Mr Muthu.I would require all the others especially old comics like Johny Neero,Lawrence and david,Rip Kirby,Mayavi etc.As my inlaws are in Chennai,I can pay thru them and the books can be handed over there itself.Pls help me in this tough and noble cause for retaining our children in our culture.Especially Muthufan, you can help me.
Thanks in advance.
With regards,
Alfy.
