Sridevi will be a good choice for his pair, but for an IPS officer ?
Sridevi in Kamal's next?
Who would not love to see Kamal Hassan and Sridevi together! If things go well both of these big personalities can come together for the malayalam remake "Dhrishyam" which originally had Mohanlal and Meena in the lead cast. Sridevi who made a comeback to Indian cinema with English Vinglish has been requested to play the role of an IPS officer for this movie, however there is no official confirmation yet. There are also talks to sign up Ramya Krishnan for the IPS role if Sridevi could not make it and Asha who played in the Mollywood movie is also a contender for the role.
Gautami leads the top contender for essaying Kamal's pair in the movie, failing which the part is expected to go to Virumandi fame Abirami or even Meena who played in the original.
Albeit with Uthama villain in its final stages Kamal is on a foray indeed!.

COURT BANS TAMIL REMAKE OF KAMAL HAASAN'S MOVIE
It seems the controversy related to the movie Drishyam will not die down anytime soon. On the heels of Bollywood producer Ekta Kapoor sending a legal notice to the makers of the movie, Malayalam writer and film director Sathish Paul has filed a petition in the Ernakulam court. He had alleged that the movie is taken from his novel, OruMazhakalathu. Sathish is the director of a Malayalam movie, Crime Thriller Finger Print, which starred Jayaram and Indrajith. Sathish has stated that he was planning to make the book into a movie in Tamil with the title, Oru Chennai Crime Story and the move by the makers of Drishyam has upset his plans and hence he preferred the petition.
Based on the petition, the Ernakulam Sessions Court has given an injunction to stop the work on the Tamil remake of the film.

Kamal and movie controversies go hand in hand! But I was thinking Drishyam is based from a Japanese based movie/novel .... and the original Malayalam was made more than a year ago. Why raise it now ? His claim doesnt look authentic .. Hindi remake is probably a different story.

Make a quick buck what else. You can maximize the return when you strike at a critical moment like just before release. Maybe he should have waited until all of the shooting is complete ...

That's what I am also wondering... looks like, that guy does not have a problem if it is remade in any language but he does not want the Tamil remake to be done.

Normally these kind of things come up when the film nearing completion, this time the problems started before the shooting commences..

Would be good to see Kamal in Drishyam because it is a sure bet in box office - though personally I am not that excited about it.
UV also not very hopeful.. some MA feel...
VR2 is the only hope now...
Best of luck - dear Tamil Film Industry ! ! !
