Murugadoss tweets Kaththi’s entry to 100 Cr club
By MOVIEBUZZ
AR Murugadoss has Tweeted today afternoon that his Kaththi has entered the coveted Rs 100 Crore club. Murugadoss Tweeted : “ Kaththi hits 100 in 12 days, still going strong.Total Rs 100.7cr, India 80.5 Overseas: 20.2 Thanks to all audience & media.”
As per sources close to ARM, Kaththi has collected Rs 65.1 Cr from Tamil Nadu in 12 days and remaining nearly 14.9 Cr from Karnataka, Kerala and rest of India. So far no official breakdown of the figure has been given.
Meanwhile trade sources in Tamil Nadu are doubting the figures. In Tamil Nadu there is a cap on ticket rates and such high figures can be obtained only by charging higher ticket rate. Anyway the Kaththi team believes that the film has collected Rs 100 Crore plus from theatricals alone and director himself has tweeted it.

There is no cap in ticket rates for the first two weeks in TN, except Chennai city limits. My friend watched Kaththi on the second day for 300 bucks in Nagercoil and I watched it paying 200 on the first day in a nearby place.

Pls check Kaththi tickets rates in Tirunelveli for tomorrow's shows using bookmyshow.com. At places with Kaththi being released in one or two screens, the prices are still on the high side.

Vijay-starrer Kaththi enters Rs.100-crore club, makes it a hat-trick for Murugadoss :
Tamil film Kaththi is the newest entrant into the Rs.100-crore club worldwide. It is also AR Murugadoss' third film to do so and that too in a row after Thuppakki and Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty.
Other Tamil films to have made it to the Rs.100-crore club include Enthiran, Vishwaroopam and Thuppakki. However, Kaththi was the fastest to make it.
"Very special day! #Kaththihitsfastest100cr! Total theatrical collection -100.7cr (65.1 ATN, 20.2 overseas, 15.4 others) (sic)," the film's music composer Anirudh Ravichander tweeted on Monday.

Starring Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead, the film addresses the plight of farmers, whose lands are being taken over by multinational companies.
Murugadoss will soon start working on his Hindi project with Sonakshi Sinha. The film is reportedly a remake of Tamil thriller Mouna Guru.
