The 'Oscar' standard in Kamal Haasan's Uttama Villain
Kamal Haasan's Uttama Villain recently had its trailer released and appreciation has been pouring in ever since, for this interesting 93 seconds clip which had the Kamal stamp all over it. The trailer has more than 1.8 million views till date.
Uttama Villain had its sound mixing recently done in Los Angeles, USA and Craig Mann and Kunal Rajan took charge of this department, under the watchful supervision of Kamal himself.
In a great news, Craig Mann has been nominated for the Oscars this year for his work on the sound mixing for the movie Whiplash, starring Miles Teller and J.K.Simmons. Whiplash is rated at a very high 8.7 / 10 in IMDB and is already at No.42 in the much-followed Top 250 films list on the site. The film has been nominated for a total of 5 Oscars.
Now without any doubt, we can expect some serious quality in the sound of Uttama Villain.

Jayachandran Pazassy who is the founder of Attakalari ...... is the person credited along with Vasoolraja mbbs choreographers Shobi and Lalitha Shobi. Attakalari by Jayachandran seems to fuse techno innovative dance movements on background of traditional south indian dance forms.
With his info, I am more.and more getting reminded of Nattukkoru seidhi solli in Anbe Sivam ....... and am more.and more getting convinced that UV is more for the elite audience.

Now there are more elite audience and if anbe sivam is released now it will be a superhit..
nowadays people are trashing outdated movies, even many people are blaming "I" which is completely entertaining for me..at the same time they are appreciating good movies like Jigarthanda,etc....only thing is movie has to be clear and understandable with classic touches..anbe sivam is that category where the dialogues, flow of the movie is very clear..Heyram is also good classic movie but its complex, dialogues are not clear, language issues, etc so it will be flop even if its released now..
If UV is clear and understandable with classic touches then it will be superhit..

I do not think AS will be superhit if get released now. Whenever I watch that movie, I only wish Kamal makes it in English like "Mrs and Mr Iyer" as it does not have much regional specific flavour except Nattukkoru seidhi solli. The plot is very well adaptive to national wide and it would attract lot more people across globe if the medium of the movie is English. Kamal and Madhavan's performance definitely deserve much more than it received so far.

"am more and more getting convinced that UV is more for the elite audience"..Dr sir, i hope it is not. from the trailer and posters it seems to be a neat family entertainer. i would prefer BB movie liked by general audience even if hated by some elites.
"I do not think AS will be superhit if get released now"..+1 venki sir.
