The movie was released in record no of screens in US particularly for Telugu version....but shocking to see the movie just made above 1 million.... A top telugu star movie easily makes more than 1.5M.... Being released in both tamil and telugu, I did not make it big.... that's why.
Avadi is correct. I was not enough to warrant a repeat crowd despite low ticket pricing. Moreso, the length backfired word-of-mouth despite Vikram's performance and guts to do koonan character. Second, this wasn't family friendly as Enthiran was, so am not surprised it was taken off after first weekend. I just made the 1 mil mark, but no where will it touch Enthiran/VR level of collection. Graphics and China scenes aside, it's really a DVD watch for an ordinary output.

Lingaa was removed like I here. I am surprised how it collected 1m. I think if we assume same ticket price, it will be in the range of 500-600k. But Lingaa will be more than I for sure given the no of screens/shows compared to I

You missed his point. With all the record screens and the Tamil/Telugu release combined, 1M is not much for I .. And nobody is comparing this to Endhiran. As per a lot of media it has crossed 200C. If you know anything to the contrary, please post reference links.

Really shocked to see Ai still running in Dubai. Not many Tamil films reach the 4th week here.

No. There was a clear demarcation between I and Lingaa give that the later was priced at 25. It opened at least double the number of of screens in Boston. So, I am not surprised but only perplexed at total collections at 1m. If I assume both did well, Kochadayaan should be in the same range. That's why I asked why there is a huge gap. May be Kochadayaan wasn't priced like this. If I is touching Lingaa and is true, it means more people have watched it in relatively less screens.l at low price!!!

The other movies which did 1M+ have run more than double this.
Sorry. Missed this one. I think both of us are more or less on the same page.
