‎KamalHaasan‬ talks about ‪‎UttamaVillain‬ & more!

Kamal Haasan is generally referred as Uttama Hero. But why is the film titled as 'Uttama Villain' ?
Everybody has a villain inside them. Some one may look like villain in your point of view, but actually he may not be. This film is the story of a very good film.

Are you inspired by any real life hero or yourself for this film ?
Many actors inspired me. I took something from everyone.This is the story of not only me, but many such actors. It is a very special film for me.

How was it working with legends like K. Balachander and K. Viswanath for this film ?
I worked with both K. Balachander and K. Viswanath for many films.But I am really happy that both of them acted in this film. It is a wonderful feeling seeing both of them in a film.
Only because of such directors, I am in this position.We have imbibed that cinematic genes from K. Balachander.

You provided story and screenplay for this film. But why did you give ‪#‎RameshAravind‬ a chance to direct this film ? Did he do justice to this film ?
It was difficult for me to direct this film along with acting in it. So I gave the duty of directing this film to my dear friend Ramesh Aravind. I think he did 100% justice to this film.

Your films are facing troubles in the recent past. Why ?
I learnt a little bit about filmmaking in the recent past. But I can't understand why some people are trying to create unnecessary problems for films in a democratic country like India.
Why would I do a film against Hindus in a country which has the largest number of Hindus in the world. There are no such elements in 'Uttama Villain', which are against Hinduism. Even court has suspended the case filed against the film, saying that there are no such elements in the film and there are many other problems to discuss than this. Not only Hinduism, I don't do films against any religion. Everyone and every applause matters to me. I am an artist, who feel that all are my family members. I don't do politics.

What do you want to tell your fans who are worried about the problems faced by your films ?
I ask them not be worried or get angered. Artists are the smallest minority in the country. But they will reflect the profile of the majority. If you treat artists well, our profile looks good to the world.

Is 'Uttama Villain' message oriented film ?
Why should I give message through a film. A SMS is enough for that. I think film is a form of art and we want applause from audiences for our work. There are so many messages to give. You can take message from even this film.

You are working with a new music director like ‪#‎Ghibran‬ for back to back films. Why ?
Do you mean we should not encourage new technicians. If Balachander had roped in a big actor than giving chance for an upcoming actor like me in 'Maro Charithra', I wouldn't have been in this position. So I am paying tribute to Balachander by giving chance to new actors and technicians.

You seem to have worked hard for the dances in this film ?
Yes I have to work hard for the dances. The choreographers and dancers really did fantastic job. The group dance in this film is not seen in any Indian film till now. The credit goes to those choreographers and dancers.

What is the reason behind working so hard even at this age ?
I don't know what age means. It matters only if we consider it.

You are working with ‪#‎PoojaKumar‬ and ‪#‎Andrea‬ for the third time. Reason ?
I worked with Sridevi for 27 films, Sripriya for 27 films and with Khusboo for 7 to 8 films. I don't consider 'Viswaroopam' and 'Viswaroopam 2' as two different films. It is only one film. So I worked with these two actresses for only two films. It is not at all a problem. I like their acting and commitment.

Kamal Haasan sir concluded saying that he watched the film recently and is very satisfied with the output. He is confident that the film will be loved by everyone.

I think you got confused with his old post(Crazy son comment) which was supposedly a rumour spread by some one. Please check his recent posts - UV is a family entertainer and visual treat for kidsnu sollirukaru.

Kekka yaarum illenna somma adichu vudraaru. Movies with Sripriya must be less than 15 and with Kushbu -> VV, MMKR and Singaravelan only.
