Why should it be like MMKR, this movie was not positioned as a comedy to begin with...if done like a comedy then it would be like nothing new was presented.

As expecting people who dont like leisurely paced films will be let down.

2 things come to mind. Either KH needs to make films accessilble and less lengthy (less than 2.5 hrs) because audience patience is wearing thin

Or Audience tastes are changing and perhaps VOD, streaming is way to go.

Have you seen the movie and then commenting that the audience will be let down??
If the movie is engaging enough, the length should not be a problem. The biggest blockbusters of all time are also among the longest (Avatar and Titanic!).

Nope will not agree .. doesnt matter if the movie is lengthy or moves slowly. The movie watchers should stay focused/revieted throughout. Wouldnt have cared if VR was any lengthier.

Some people from dupaai are giving such feedback. Acting laam kekka venaam. But pacing is definetly an issue based off feedback from twitter.

If lingu baai asked to trim prior release, that itself is not very encouraging. My point is that people are expecting more from Papanaasam than this because of less interference from KH.

Ok. understood. Movie might still be ok.. waiting for reviews tomorrow... (meanwhile, Papanasam script... Drishyam.. is so tight that no one can screw that up).

Based on feedback so far acting ,performances from the cast have been appreciated, the one thing that has been mentioned by some is the pacing, also did Lingu trim the movie before release?

Remains to be seen. But what is %% of overall gross by overseas and North India ? Hardly 10-15 %. Telugu, Kannada, Hindi ruled out since they have/will have made their own remake. So its primarily TN ... A movie with a much smaller budget and tightly knit, it has good chances of becoming a superhit.
