Madras talkies is primarily focussing on Mani's movies. Since 1997, they just produced only 2 non-mani movies. Madras Talkies is fading because Director is fading out.

MT is owned by mani..mt produced 3 non mani actually..2 did well..MT is still strong because most of mani's films were profitable..even ravanan was profitable..kadal flopped but it didnt impact the company financially.. Basically mani is a smart producer and director..he knows business

Who said MT is fading? Mani is one of the most calculative film maker out there. Except Kadal, all his films were profitable. Mani was a partner of a film company called Aalayam with Sriram. Since Sriram mismanaged funds, Mani opted out and started MT and still going strong.

He produced 3 movies under MT for other directors - Five Star, Dum^3 and Nerukku Ner. While the first 2 were hits, NN was an average grosser.

Who said UV is marana thozhvi? check out all week-end shows in all theaters in and around Chennai are almost full..in AP tamil version is houseful in Hyderabad and telugu version is going decently..No need to talk about overseas..only in kerala its doing bad and in TN 'C' centres..
Also there is not even single news about flop story from media..
Shows stopped in 1st 2 days definitely having huge impact in overall collection but film is holding on well..

All his three films pandiyanadu,poojai,aambala made a very good profit at box office...no flops at all...in fact pandiyanadu satellite rights bought by rajtv for 10 CR's where as poojai and aambala sold for 10 CR's and 12 CR's respectively....in fact vff distributed jeeva also a profitable venture

How about maniratnam?? I have read few of the comments from kadal thread and almost all comments from OKK thread..I am also fan of MR but antha thread irukura commentsa paatha jaalra maadhri therilaiyaa..jaalra is there for every famous actor ,famous director,famous music director..
Have you read all comments in this thread..dr and many including me criticized kamal like anything..infact dr radio criticized kamal heavily so at some point some of kamal fans like cinemarasigan cant tolerate and requested him to delete the comment..

Everyone including kamal fans criticized MMA but all kamal fans loved UV..like how sivaji is purely for rajni fans like that UV might be purely great movie for Kamal fans because of his great performance and writing..

Yes people need to check out the booking status before commenting "flop" etc just based on their own feeling that "this movie cant do well as it is slow"

Yes but there is always a group who believes "if they don't like the movie they will decide its flop" other group "They like the movie but will think it wont do well as its slow"..we can ignore bashers as its there for all movies..
The fact is the show is houseful mostly because of kamal fans watching movie more than once..almost 75% of kamal fans watching UV again this week-end..
