As he said cinema is truly a democratic art but not many taking it like that apart from few like KH..
In general, ppl look askance at anything/anyone who is intense or passionate about whatever he/she does - if passion combines with talent and commitment, then ppl get scared of it - especially amongst the Indian middle-class which has grown to a staple diet of doing the same thing over and over again for quite a few decades!
Thats why perhaps Kamal is given that treatment
