this is possible i think this is one of the very few KH movies released without any controversies and buzz.. usually there'll be controversies around KH movies and they create certain buzz and hype which is missing for this film. but reading all the good reviews i expect this will pick up over the weekend.. not in US though, it's a bad time to expect returns from HW in the middle of summer blockbusters.

As per the reports this movie which has huge expectation in the South Indian Film Industry which is a tailor-made script for an actor like Kamal Haasan, it has been released in a total of 700 screens across the Tamil Nadu. The budget of this movie is around Rs.18 crore which is expected to be easily collected in no time.

The first day opening collections of this movie is expected to be around Rs.5 crore including other regions from Tamil Nadu. The average occupancy from the first day of this movie is around 80% though the story of this movie has already known to many. The first-day collections of Papanasam is as good as any other movie with houseful centers in many regions of Tamil Nadu.

i doubt it.. KH salary may itself be around 18 Cr..it's not his home production right.

No its not. But grapevine has it that he's helping out his old heroine Sripriya who's suffering huge loses from her previous production venture ... So it may be that he's not talking a big salary out of it or it may be that with his salary included, it may be around 30c breakeven.

Dont agree. UV collected close to 700K and was profitable in the US despite being below average overall. I'm positive this will do similar or better. We'll find out soon.

Papanasam shows increased in SPI cinemas for the weekend..In and around Chennai,suburbs and chengalpet alone its released in 60 theaters which is great for low budget remake movie..

No need to check any more reviews. Overwhelmingly positive.

Only concern is Box office. It started badly. But, in Sathyam Chennai and Coimbatore they have added more shows for week end. The Bookmyshow rating in Bangalore shows very positive. In Bangalore, all the Drishyam version had run very well. (Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada). Only Tamil was pending. If any non-Tamil fan wants to watch, thats only for Kamal. Have to wait till the week end to get the clear picture.
