    without a well known director, without top heroine/comedians, without action/punch , without fights/dance , no other star has a hit in tamil in the last 30-40 years .. some things are possible only for Kamal Haasan ..

    other stars cant shine without commercial attractions .. thats the truth ..
    Top glamorous heroines, top comedian, Oscar winning MD, commercial Director, expensive wig and other big list of commercial items irunthum thaathaa padam flop .. itha vida enna asingam venum ..

    Kamal Haasan's Nationwide / statewide blockbusters like Ek Du Je keliye, Maro charitra, Salangai Oli, Swathi mutyam etc(few left, can't recollect) too were NOT regular commercial movies. But still they were very big blockbusters. This kind of success et all happenned ONLY for Kamal! While using MGR Formula, do good happy go lucky guy hero, with all the well tested formulas were the Norm for success, Kamal Films naturally broke them!!!

    If Papanasam crosses 100 Cr+ (which I think it will), it will be a big achievement. In terms of % return, Papanasam will likely be #1 by end of 2016.

    Wrong - with his characteristic acting approach, Goundamani has enjoyed several hits from 'Vaidegi Kaathirunthaal' without top heroine, without action/punch, without fights/dance - he was a star in his own right ....

    Many films were successes only coz they had him in the star cast ....

    Gounds was a commercial attraction by himself..

    First comes Kamal and then Gounds and only then anyone else...
