center of city! pala per vanthu pOgum idam! surrounded by thickly populated residential areas. very good connectivity via bus, now metro station too. 2 malls are there, thats why!

Side discussion - did you know who declined the exemption ? A panel containing of yesterday veterans: actors, singers and music directors: LR. Eswari, M.N. Rajam and Shankar Ganesh ... Hmm.

Movie budget is considered to be quite low .. so its believed that costs may have already been covered in the first week itself. Now its more whether its a hit or a superhit.

Thats right CR. Papanasam is doing too well everywhere. Not just in A,B, C centers of TN but in Mumbai too. sg-cafe tweeted that shows are are houseful in Singapore also. TN theatres like trichymovies, vettritheatres too keep tweeting about its excellent performance. But why is it that NONE of the major sites/magazines are even acknowledging the success. This is very similar to the silence we saw during Dasavatharam and Vishwaroopam release. Now Sify went one step ahead and called it 'Average' in their recent CBO report. Behindwoods keeps maintaining the same status 'Grand Opening' for more than 2 weeks. Newspapers like Indian Express are so busy dissecting the BO accomplishments of Bahubali that they forget to note that a small movie, probably made with 1/5th the budget and released one week before Bahubali is giving it a tough fight in TN. In fact in TN interiors there is no fight. Papanasam takes a huge lead there.

Madurai and beyond Madurai collection is superb..Infact 80-90% of theaters retained despite bahubali release there becoz of nellai accent may be..In Coimbatore/thiruppur its steady..
Recent news trichy LA cinemas decided not to release Maari and continue with papanasam,bahubali..
In Chennai single theaters retaining papanasam with matinee ,evening shows despite maari release eating its crucial evening crowd..
SPI cinemas given 24 shows each for Papanasam,Maari..
What I heard is after long time theater owners are facing extreme pressure because they want to continue with Papanasam in B,C centres but Maari is releasing..
Do we need to say anymore? Watchout for houseful shows everywhere these week-end as well..

Btw heard Maari is finding it tough to get theaters in TN as both BB and PN are running very well.
