I had very much assumed, back on July 8th, that PP will cross 100C. Sometimes fans themselves become too defensive, doubtful even suspicious regarding the box office potential of KH. Papanasam is a sure hit no matter what other say.

If Papanasam crosses 100 Cr+ (which I think it will), it will be a big achievement. In terms of % return, Papanasam will likely be #1 by end of 2016.

No, not like that .. its more of cautious optimism before talking big numbers w/o seeing actuals. Just dont want it to be in the butt of all jokes. If you were to refer to the initial posts in the UV thread, I had mentioned right then when the UV audio came out that its PN that'll hold the pulse of the audience and not UV - which has a disconnect no matter what fans rave about UV. And sure enough, we're seeing it now.

Chennai & Bangalore - almost all shows are sold out for the entire weekend in many halls- even 9:30AM shows - now thats something for a film's third weekend!

I was just making a point Bill. I know you are right on the mark most of the time. I was making a general comment because most of us keep worrying about box office results for PN when we should be celebrating. The result for PN is different from UV - we all can feel it. That said, we also know KH seems to have some powerful enemies, especially political. Non-tax exemption and pirated versions so early may have had an impact.
