Kamal, in general, likes such a competition. So, it might happen unless Ajith backs up. Rajini usually tries to avoid that as he mostly try satisfy the producers and distributors' wishes too!
This is a very big world!

those who want to compete with kamal or fans who சிண்டுமுடிஞ்சிஃபை other actos with kamal and call it as competition, shud agree to compete with kamal in ALL THE DEPARTMENTS he had excelled, and win(!!!!!!) Else shud keep away from these silly stuff.
Just to reminder, Kamal, in his illustrious career, have many times won in BOX Office and had broken previous records. Other actors hav anytime won kamal in his talents and acting performance?!
The reason iam saying this is, there has been no instance in past that one big hero's good film was beaten by another hero's successful film. So why unnecessarily torture kamal and his fans in name of competition?!

my cent: whoever may be the actor..in best interest of ppl involved (producer, distributors, actors and of course fans/film going public), it would be advisable to avoid simultaneous release of biggies on same day.

Thoongaathe thambi thoongaathe, veLLai roja and thanga magan were dfor DeepavaLi and all the three movies were hits.
Manithan and Nayagan were released for DeepavaLi, they both were hits too!
People in general want to see more than one movie on a deepavaLi day. They would not like to be forced to watch only one movie.
This is a very big world!

No basis for the above unwanted statement...KH, like everyone else, would not want to clash with anyone dividing the collection among multiple releases.

In Padayappaa 175-day function, he himself said that in open stage! He said it is a healthy competition but we are friends as well! Is this "basis" enough for you?

So be it!
The point is more than one movie can succeed even when they are competing.
You also are saying three movies were hits on deepavali release! Thanks
