Lots of raving reviews about Petta Velan... being Velan myself, I had to watch the movie.

Verdict: It's a typical Mass (masala) movie, made for fans. Don't expect it to take Tamil cinema forward. Lol. No strong story or issues like in Kabali or Kaala.
Nevertheless, it's 3 hours of fast-paced entertainment with the usual plot of heroism and revenge. But who really cares about stories in a Rajni movie; certainly not the fans.

Even the supporting cast does not matter. It's all about Super Star. And Karthik ensures that the fan's appetite is met totally to their satisfaction.

Petta will be lapped up by the fans and they may want to watch it over and over again. For the rest, Petta is a watchable movie.
