Ramki,
There is at least one other song by Dhanasekar that I know of. It is a duet with VJ. It is a cute song and will remind you of malargaLin rAjA. The song is "Asai thuNaiyE azagu chilaiyE" from the film Pallavi Illaatha Paadal.
Speaking of singers who did not make it big, the song "Oorvasi Menagai" by BSS that was featured few months ago is from the film Vallavan Varugiraan.

Thanks Ramki for the song.
However, I don’t think “malargaLin rAjA" is a rare song. It easily can get in CDs and frequently plays in Minnal.fm.Kuala Lumpur.
The full name of MD is N.S.Thiagarajan. Ravichandran and Pramila are leads of "vaLLi Theivaanai, which released in 1973.
I have read that both of the singers are blind. Unmaiya Theriyavillai.

Sorry for miss this in above message.
"PoothirunthEn KaathirunthEn KulamagaL Pole" is another nice Solo by P.Susila.
Pramila acted in duel role in VT. They are the vaLLi and theivAnai.

Malargalin Rajaa
balaji -
One request: please imagine a ? after all the details (Film/MD/Singers/Lyricists) whenever I mention them in my posts. I really appreciate the corrections, and urge you not to stop!
Ramki -
I remember Sri Gananaatham quite well. Yes, it was one of your early POTW picks. Greatness all over.
Malargalin Rajaa is a real find, with or without Minnal (I have not tuned in to this station for a few years now!) And, for a change, I heard the tune as soon as I read the two words on the homepage link! Thanks!

2 songs from oru malarin payanam(oru malarin payanam)
Pick #312 & 313
http://raretfm.mayyam.com/stream/pow06/pillai_omp.rm
http://raretfm.mayyam.com/stream/pow06/thedum_omp.rm
Songs: piLLai manam/thedum en kaadhal
Film: oru malarin payanam
Singers : Vani Jairam - Rajseetharaman, T.L.Thyagarajan
lyrics: Mu. Mehta
Music: Chandrabose
OMP is one of the rare album with songs by relatively unknown singers. RS and TLT did not get to sing many songs in TFM.
Rajseetharaman rose to fame with 'mella mella' from vazhkai.
The other good song by RS is 'mansukkuL utkarndhu' from .
I have no details on other songs by TLThyagarajan.
After Sirai, few of Anuradha Ramanans story made into movies. OMP is one of them. The film had Lakshmi, Sulakshana, Oorvasi, MuraLi etc and i think it was directed by Mukta Srinivasan.
The film had one more good solo by VJ . Im sure Neel or Naaz will know what the song is.
BTW thanks to NeelD for keep sending these rare songs.
