M.R.RADHA a great artist
[tscii]Why no thread for this great actor !?
He deserves a thread more than anyone else
Had played multiple characters – Hero, villain, character roles with ease
A versatile artist
Possessed unique voice & his successors inherited it
Never short of controversy also
His Ratha kaneer delivered a very good social message
His family tree has long branches – MRR Vasu / Radha Ravi / Radhika / Nirosha etc
All have done well
Lets discuss this great artist of yesteryears

Good Job Nakke !
MRR definitely deserves a thread ! Being a versatile actor, he is known for his behaviour as a villian n a comedian together ... and also his voice and also his modulation in his voice !
Being the center of attraction during the time when BIG kings ruled the industry, he stood very different from the rest of them ....
I believe he is from Trichy ... i even have been to his MRR colony which is in Senthaneerpuram even today !
There is a lot to discuss about him

I watched Pava manipu recently & mannnnnnnn !
Wondering who was the real hero .
So many shots / frames , dialogues for Nadigavel !
Every scene of his with Shivaji was class
& in climax , when he apologises to everyone & the way he hugs Shivaji ,
SUPERB ACTING

Enakku pala patta peyargal undu inge Pala nanbargal irukindranar Leave them & let them enjoy with their words
Today, I wish to mention about MRR's ever famous movie RATHA KANEER :
In the early 50’s the foreign culture invasion struck a blow and also opened up the eyes of younger generation.
M.R.Radha beautifully captures this myth through this stage play which was also screened later.
The foreign returned hero is extremely head weight.
Neglects village culture on his return from America.
He rejects all love and affection shown by the people in his village.
He is very sarcastic about Indians .
He even asks his mother - NEE EN GAVUN PODA MATENGURE !?
Enakku unna ammanu en friendsu kitte sollave vetkama irukku !
Another scene when he organises a meet :
Pant pottavan ellam chairla okkaru
Veshti katinavan ellam tharaiyila okkaru
He is forced to marry a village girl.
She is afraid of him.
As usual in the early hours he takes whisky instead of coffee.
For him all ideals of the country are peanuts.
The affluence still makes him to lead a high standard of life.
He meets a dancer in a program.
Affiliation grows with her.
He slowly loses his affluence for her.
He does not attend his mother’s cremation in the gala life.
His close friend S.S.Rajendran shows affection to his wife & remains a care taker & well wisher .
Leprosy gets into MRR.
Unknowingly he comes to his wife for alms.
He goes and begs his dancer to give him a comfortable life.
She kicks from the height.
MRR's power deteriorates gradually and with disease on the one side he wishes to see his wife to marry SSR , upon realizing that his wife is ultimate in life & wishes everything good for her atleast from now .
He makes an appeal that his statue should be made in his hometown and younger generation should be taught the pros and cons of his life.
The character had the HIGHEST SENSE OF HUMOUR even in his last days in life when he roams around as a virtual begger, looks for water & finds a roadside tap
He opens the tap only to get oxygen but no water
Despite the fact that he is at the end of his life , he blasts the government
NASTY MUNICIPALITY
In my opinion, THIS M.R.RADHA IS ONE OF THE BEST CHARACTERS PORTRAYED IN TAMIL CINEMA ITSELF
It had a social message
More to come on the great M.R.Radha
