But I am sorry to express my disappointment on the Unconventional way of singing by a Scholarly Vidwan of high repute...
... DEVIATING FROM THE STANDARD SWARA NOTES... stipulated by the composer Thyagaraja Swamy.
For the information of all Rasikas.. I am putting forth this fact...
...NOT AS MY OPINION... NOR PERSONAL COMMENT.. (Because I am least qualified to comment on that great Vidwan Scholar)
... but only highlighting the Truth behind.
The conventional method of singing Anupallavi... is in Ucha-sthayi..higher pitch...
... similar to the Anupallavi line...ANAADHA RAKSHAKI SREE KAMAKSHI"
...in the Keerthana...VINAAYAKUNI VALENU BROVAVE.
I am sure of my statement... since Several other leading Vidwans like Ariyakudi, Chembai and Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer too... I have heard in one and the same pattern of Conventional swara notes of Swami Thyagaraja.
It has got carved deep into the core of my memory..
.. ever since I heard closely in person from Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer troupe at Thirumalai Venkateswara Swami Sannidhi... about 50 years back.
The CD disc from Radha-Jayalakshmi ... sung beautifully, sold like hot-cake.. about 2 decades back.
This is one of the most cherished song... I love and love to hear
If any of our friends here... have heard that disc.. I welcome to comment.
I wish any of our present day Rasikas should not be mislead by unconventional singing...
... irrespective of the stature of the singer.
