I still remember my cousin (who wasn't musically trained but very smart otherwise) picking the "western" music in the second interlude when this song was released and was broadcast frequently (and we were probably 7th & 9th graders at that time...in late 70's when radio and "mike set" were our only sources of TFM outside cinema theaters...tea shops / recording centers / cassette players came a little later)...

Raja's initial folk offerings were quite authentic in parts, with clever intermingling of awesome WCM techniques / instrumental portions which enhanced the beauty while catching the ears of any listener looking for something new in TFM...

'sevvandhippoo mudichcha' will be loved forever...esp. for the second interlude IMHO...

Very True. That seamless blending, which never seemed like mixing of two or more styles, is a big speciality of Raaja. That is why we (Raaja fans) enjoy these songs even today, any time we hear.

Most of the music directors who came in during late the 80s and after that follow this orchestration style of Raaja only. Some may be following it knowingly and for some others, the style may have got in unknowingly, because that was the style ruling the South Indian film music from the late 70s.

Raaja will be among the very few film composers whose fans like the interludes equally or more than the song portions. He may probably be the only Indian composer who has some fans seeing his movies only for the BGMs.
