Raga/tala Technical Queries
folks,
There are at least 2 versions of Antaranga Bhakti of Koteeswara Iyer which I heard with G1 where as the music books define G2 for this ragam.
The recordings of TNS in musicindiaonline has an unmistakable usage of G1, same with that of Kaushik Ram in another website. This gives the S R G M P or lower half of arhanam a varali type effect.
A couple of other artistes sing it explicitly with G2 and no trace of G1 - in this mode the S R G M P sounds exactly like Subhapantuvarali.
Which is the technically correct version of this ragam?
Experts please clarify.
