I was listening to Ohio by Crosby & Co., the bass guitar pattern sounded familiar. I think the riff was used as base for "Agar Main kahoon" from Lakshya (Loy is a rock music enthusiast ) Can experts clarify?

Ohio by Crosby,STills, Nash & Young

(If you are not sure what I am referring to, listen to the section past 2:00 when the vocals fade and the riff becomes more prominent)

    Agar main kahoon

It is not that the ignominy of piracy has plagued MDs only after IR's era, but even yester year legends like MSV cannot be absolved of that malady. I rate the songs from "Karnan" among the top 5 best of MSV's long , illustrious career. Songs like "KangaL enge", "Maharajan ulagai " would live on for centuries to come. When I consider "Maharajan ulagai" as one the benchmark songs in "Karaharapriya " , imagine my shock and utter disappointment at my discovering it was almost a note to note copy from SVV's [ SVV is a classical music giant of an MD] "Anbinale uruvagum inba nilai" from a 1950's movie "Pasa valai" !!!

Who is the MD of pAsavalai? Looks like MSV-TKR, which means this is a recycle and not a case of plagiarism. Are you sure it was SVV, thumburu?
(google gives different results, one even says G Ramanathan for pAsavalai)

Paasavalai is by MSV-TKR. Read this interesting anecdote
    http://www.dhool.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4174

Also from what I remember Maharajan ulagai's opening line is so much different from anbinaale undaagum. I am not even sure that this is a recycle.

The radio programme said the MD was SVV . But this song clearly inspires "Maharajan ulagai" not just because of the scale

So from "note-to-note" copy it has now become "inspiration" ? Interesting
