Largely true but he has had some lovely performances.
I like him in Veettukku Veedu.
Jai: (in an angry high pitch) Enna di...
Lakshmi: ippo neenga "enna nee" appidinnu sonneengaLA...enna di nu sonneengalAnnu ippovE therinjaagaNum
Jai: (in a soft voice) Malathi naan unnai eppo sonnAlum adhu "enna nee" dhan...."enna di" kidaiyAdhu.. (without a pause, back to the angry high pitch) enna nee....
And of course "asandhu pOyiruppArE"
This movie is several times funnier than the more celebrated KasEdhAn kadavuLadA

Exactly. PR. I forgot the name of this movie. Thanks for reminding. Jai transforms from a Macho typical hero to a hen-pecked husband. His mannerism changes right in front of our eyes as the movie progresses. Strangely, he is the best thing in this movie.
After doing some really lousy action films, I think he lost interest in acting.
He will be reunited with NT in the 80s, when both are not really at the peak of their game (except NT occasionally of course).
And NOV, I'm gonna complain to my mom about what you said, grrr

PR, Lakshmi is a wonderful actress, let it be emotional or comedy. She single handedly lifted Jeans.
I have kaasEdhaan kadavuladaa dvd.....
Never argue with a fool or he will drag you down to his level and beat you at it through sheer experience!

but OTOH any NT fan worth his salt should be able to take on a Jaishankar fan
grouucho, I guess Sivaji was experimenting when he acted with Jaishankar. Look at all the 2nd heroes in his 60s movies: Balaji, SSR, Muthuraman, Sivakumar, etc. The list goes on and Jaishankar was one of those.

I was/am Jaishankar's fan. Don't you know once upon a time he was a threat to MGR. Since MGR had fear about him, he acted in Ragasiya police 115 to compete Jai's james bond type films. I liked Jai's Thunivae Thunai, Vallavnukku vallavan, etc, etc for his james bond thpe action only. And he was good in 100ku 100 too.

Which one? That category can include Raja, Vaira Nenjam among others. Trouble is, NT's Bond type film tend to be character heavy since NT is playing the lead. Jai fits in well because the focus is the action and fast moving script. Yes, I liked Vallavanukku Vallavan too, and accept him as our Bond.

<dig> Few of MGR early black and white films like 'Tharmam Thalai kaakkum' and all had this secret investigations things. MT will be shown as a secret agent in couple of films. couldn't recollect. Might not be bond material. But OK for his type of films and I don't think he would have given RP115 only due to JAI's films Anyway, let me stop here</dig>
