Devadas & Chandi Raani were tamil telugu bilinguals (Chandi Rani may have had a hindi version too). G was probably the natural choice for this as in paathaala bhairavi, maayaa bazaar etc.

O_IS_G, C.R. Subburaman was the official composer for 'Chandi Rani' in all languages but was incapacitated due to an ailment. MSV was the sole composer for 'Chandi Rani' as well as 'Jenovah' and TKR, a violinist in the troupe. MSV-TKR did 'nayA Admi' , I can immediately recall a Hemant Kumar-Lata Mangeshkar duet. Rafi too sang for them in this movie. I will try and get some links for those songs.

kik, 'chandA sE hOgA' was composed by R.Sudarasanam in Tamil ('nAnum oru peNN') and lifted by a lesser known composer in Hindi, certainly not a MSV-TKR song.

Mr. Observer, I think you are referring to the film "main bhi ladki hoon" .... remake of Naanum Oru Penn. The MD is Chitraguptha...i have heard he and R Sudarshanam regularly composed jointly .... especially for these "remake movies". Even Ravi (known in MalayAlam film industry as Bombay Ravi) has done several such movies. In fact many of these Hindi movies were made in Madras - one is Grihasthi...that has a superb Asha semiclassical "jeevan jyoTh jalE".
I guess in old movies there were many lifts/inspiration/or even joint compositions either way, north-to-south or vice versa. Veda is one more such fellow. I have seen an interview of MSV on DD Marathi (in Pune) - of course it was translated. But it did show a lot about MSV's work, and also showed the praises showered on him by various celebrities ...one was SPB. herein he mentioned that Shankar Jaikishan were inspired by one of MSVs tunes, to create Lata's classic "ruk jA rAt theher jA rE chandA" in "dil Ek mandir".
Thanks,
AVR

AVR, yes, Chithragupta, though a very talented composer was relegated to doing B-Grade movies most of the time. Even the other famous song in 'nAnum oru peNN' , 'kaNNa karumai nirakkaNNA' was used as it was, in Hindi, a rare instance of plagiarization by Chitragupta.
'rukh jA rAth tehar' ..... check out the antara (charanam) of this Shankar-Jaikishen song, a typically short 'one-liner', but catchy. This tune is actually the tune for the anupallavi of 'azhagE vA aruge vA' from 'ANdavan kattaLai' by MSV-TKR, more than just an inspiration !!!! Please listen to the Tamil version of 'rukh jA', 'enna ninaiththu ennai padaiththayO' , a great number.
