I feel it is a stretch to call nenjukkul peidhidum a lift.
In fact only the bit
Nee nindra idam nindral vilai eri pogadho
Nee sellum vazhi ellam pani katti aagadho
is clearly reminicent of some old IR song. But, then, who is not inspired by MSV or IR?

M4E... dont even bother dude.. for folks who are hell bent on slanting someone even if he comes up with good stuff...you cant empathize with them... Just call it a lift and make them happy...and please make sure you end it with "ARR the best"

I expected you so you agree to the four lines and the guitar chords have a striking similarity. In any case of inspiration or lifts it is sufficient if the similarity continues 15 seconds or 3 - 4 lines of tune structure.
virrajan,
No doubt about. VA has got very good songs, comely packed. Originality is the most important than anything else for even a nomination.
OMG now listen to

Your 4 lines ??? I guess you didnt catch me there....The opeing guitar is the only place where its even remotely inspired... to call Nejukul a lift??... only you can do it....
Mundhinam is a song with completely different tune with Faith chords.... can i put it that way ??

All I am listing are the case to case of inspirations but not blatant lifts. Whereas Mundinam/adiye kolludhe guitar chords are very much intentionally expended.
Now answer me this why does HJ alone has so much inspirations when compared to others? Shud I mention Karu Karu - westlife & June ponal - All rise blues.
>>>guitar.. I am kind good at that...<<
Glad to know that.
Did anyone talk about sakkarakatti here?

Scale....
There is nuthing wrong by being ispired. There are many songs of IR which have ispired from hindi...but he spins it in such a way that it sounds better than the original..Mundinam is a classic case..
The same was the case of "Taxi Taxi " song.. will it take thousand listens to call it inspired/lift ..NO he completely spins a new song out of regaetton beats..
I dont call HJ as an original .. but he consistently gives better out put than others.. Similarly I question why is that you guyz get heartaches and spent all your time scrutinizing his songs finding seconds to milliseconds inspirations??
all this structure lift concepts are crap... infact all songs in tamil are structure lifts.. one pallavi and two charanams..So???
