Tamil film music and remix seems inseparable. It has become a routine to see a host of yesteryear hits being remixed. Every film has at the least one song from the yesteryear films being remixed.

Dhanush, whose films are known for remix tunes, will have a remix of a Chiranjeevi song 'Ra Ra Chilikamma' from the movie 'Choodalani Undi', for Padikathavan.

Interestingly, Silambarasan's 'Silambattam' ready to be released on December will have the remixed version 'Vachukava' from 'Nallavanukku Nallavan'.

Yuvan's remixes a Sivaji number

What with remixes have become the order of the day, every single movie under production seems to have a remix number on its sound track. The Suresh-directed Surangani is no exception and will have Yuvan Shankar Raja rebooting a classical Sivaji number. According to sources, the Maraindhirundhu Paarkum… number from Chevalier Shivaji's

Thillaana Moganambal is being remixed by Yuvan to suit the tastes of today's gen.

The irrefutable late pair Sivaji-Padmini made the song immortal. Surangani is produced by Miracle Films.

'Malayur Mammattiyan' houses a remix

It is known that Prashanth is playing the lead role in the remake of his father Thiyagarajan's mega hit 'Malayur Mammattiyan'. The remake version features Meera Jasmine playing his ladylove. She will don the role enacted by Saritha in the original.

Prakashraj, Vadivelu among others will be in the cast. To be produced and directed by Thiyagarajan himself, the movie would go to the floors very soon.

What is unknown is that plans are on to remix the popular number 'Kattu Vazhi Pora Ponnu' (set to tunes by Ilayaraja) from the original version for the remake. The song was a huge craze then. Set to tunes and sung by Ilayaraja himself, it topped all charts during that era.
