There is a dearth of commentaries on ancient Kannada, Telugu and Tamil Keertanas. Hope I find time to do research on them and write bring out something on them some day. I am collecting lots of material and going thru all of 'em in my free time. Any help in this regard is welcome.

MLV version of "Thaye yasodha" is even in different ragam I think.(I heard the original song is set to thodi ragam)...

Yes madhu! It was set in Thodi and I have heard Madurai MaNi Iyer sing it in Thodi. The MLV rendition is in ragamaligai!
