Yeah he's into screenplays in a big way but that at least partially offesets the loss doesn't it. I mean he screenwrote Kannaththil , Uyire etc and he wrote some witty dialogues for Siddharth in Aayidha Ezhuthtu.
There was a thin book written ayear or so back : 'Thiraikkadhai Ezhudhuvadhu Eppadi ? '. Remarkably lucid, mixing cookbook approach with his sharp wit. In the preface he writes about his discovery of the medium: screenplay.
Katradhum Petradhum is a fun read. Whenever I get a Vikatan that's where I go first. But I remember one particular instance where he was paused the column thus : ' Niraya Paesiyaachchu. Oru Ganesh-Vasanth kadhaia mudichittu thodatuvome!' Next week Yavanika started and went on for 26 weeks then he got back to Katradhum.... Whoa who else can match prolificity and content like him.

RR,
I haven't read Katrathum Petrathum fully. Whenever, I get time, I used to read it online on Vikatan. Why don't u pls. summarize the reason hinted by Sujatha?
Prabhu,
No doubt, Sujatha's powerful pen has made many stories interesting. Though he was condemned for his dialogues in 'Boys', I only felt he has written exactly what guys in metroes speak. Is he working with Shankar for 'Anniyan?'. If yes, that film should be as good as 'Indian', I suppose.

How did I miss this thread?????
As for Sujatha's novels withou Ganesh Vasanth - there's another excellent and interesting one titled "Aa!!". It is also a fiction based story.
As for his other books, I can recommend "thalamaich cheyalagam" and "kaRpanaikku appaal". You get very interesting and informative essays on various issues - based on science.
His "srirangaththu dEvathaigaL" "yEn yethaRkku yeppadi" are also excellent reads.
He indeed does a good job with script writing for films. His master piece was "Mudhalvan" I would say . The dialogues of Arjun and Raguvaran in the TV interview scene were marvelous. Indian was also good. He had to face a lot of criticisms for "Boys". But he did a good job with the dialogues for Vivek and Senthil's saamiyaar character (Information is wealth !! ) in that film.

Sujatha's dialogues for films are average, which is surprising.
As for oonjal, it was a play staged by Poornam viswanathan which was telecast on DD.

From this week Kumudam 'sujata-vai kElungaL':

VENKIRAJA,
I've edited. Is it ok now? (BTW I'm not ragavan!)
'excellence' depends on what do you expect.. In non-fiction, I've relished
Katruthum petruthum (all volumes)
Kaniyaazhiyin Kadaisi pakkangal - this is his early days' work. You can see how his style has metamorphasized over these years.
Aazhvaargal - eLiya arimugam
Oriru ennangal
