Even ICL had best-of-3 finals. Modi maapLa ellAm nallA paNNittu idhula kOttai vuttutiyE. I think a best of 3 would have favoured the stronger team Mumbai.
Also, this business of beating Mumbai in their own den being a great achievement - I don't agree. The pitch suited CSK squad more than MI's strenghts. Bangalorela vechurundhA advantage mumbainu thONaradhu.
Goes to show how trivial points are taken as highlights by media and fans - in this case, more than the stadium advantage, pitch advantage mattered. But history will record this as mumbai's home advantage nullified. Even chennai's patta pitch would have been better for mumbai..

I disagree Plum.
In 2010, CSK lead 2-1 in Head-to-heads vs Mumbai. Incl. league..

Yesterday itself I wrote that sachin shouldn't play if there was risk. Indha trophy avLO mukkiyam illaiyE compared to world cup, test records, beating oz in oz.
As an opponent, I'd credit luck foremost if I happen to win against an injured Tendulkar. Wasim Akram in '99 had the same luck.
To some extent one feels like railing against destiny a la pachan in deewar

I guess he would have said good bye to IPL, had MI won the match yesterday. May be he wants to give another shot.

Well thats because Nayyar kept looking for runs in dangerous situations. Should have got Sachin out twice or thrice already. Especially Murali and Jakati throws were inches away

One of the charms of cricket is that it is not always the better team that wins.
I don't understand what the point is of a best of n final. If you want the better team to win then don't have finals at all, just use points table and decide. We have finals for thrills and pay a price.
Best of n, is wanting both porridge and moustache.

Although I am ok with CSK winning(as opposed to punjap or rajasthan or deccan), sachin's pain has sort of nullified that happiness.
I guess if mumbai had won and media went ballast against chennai, it would have been similar for me(in varying degree). So the final I envisaged as win-win has become lose-lose

I'm sick of it. When Sachin did not play well in Semis, there were criticisms that sachin cannot play under pressure.! WTH!
As you say, useless fellows!
